Who Takes an Upright or Grand Piano Out of a Darien Home?
Call or Text for the Next Piano Removal Opening in Darien
We take pianos, including the one nobody has played in years and the one that lives upstairs. In McIntosh County the piano is often part of a bigger family decision about a house, and it’s usually the piece everyone has been quietly worrying about. It is heavy work — an upright piano runs eight-hundred to a thousand pounds — but it’s work we plan for.

Piano removal around Darien
A piano in an older home usually went in long before anyone thought about getting it out again. Getting it out is mostly about the path: the front steps, the turn at the door, and on a rural lot, how far the truck can come before the ground goes soft. When the truck has to stop short, the piano rides the last stretch on its dolly with enough hands to keep it steady.
It could be an upright in a house on the coast at Valona or a spinet in Pine Harbor. Either way, we read the steps, doorways and turns from your photos and settle the route before the day.
The piano is rarely the only thing leaving. When a family is clearing a parent’s house, the bench, the sheet music, the bookcase beside it and the rest of the room can go on the same trip, at whatever pace the family sets. That kind of work deserves patience, and it gets it.
What we handle
What we plan for you
We size the crew to the instrument — skids, dollies, straps and the hands the job needs — and we only take a piano apart as far as the access requires. Legs usually come off a grand; an upright mostly travels whole.
Stairs get a plan before anyone lifts, and the piano stays on the dolly the whole way down. If yours sits somewhere unusual, send us a few photos and tell us where it is, and we’ll tell you what it takes.

What we haul
Pianos we move out
- Upright, studio and console pianos
- Spinets in small rooms and narrow hallways
- Baby grands and grands, legs and lyre off for the doorway
- Player pianos
- Old home organs
- Digital pianos and keyboards
- Piano benches and stools
Pricing
What changes the price
The instrument, the path and the time. A spinet near the front door is the light end. A baby grand — which starts around twelve-hundred pounds — coming down a flight of stairs takes more people, more setup and more of the day.
On a rural property, a long roll from the house to where the truck can safely park adds time as well, and we build that into the number from the start rather than at the end.
Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95.
After the pickup
Where it goes
A piano still in playable shape is worth offering to a donation outlet such as HART in McIntosh County, but they decide what they take, and most pianos are past that point by the time we’re called.
A digital piano or electronic keyboard from a McIntosh job goes to a place like Broadhurst, since the county landfill doesn’t take electronics.
The rest is routed by what it’s made of, with disposal for what nothing else can use.
