How pricing works
Send photos and you get a firm price, confirmed before anything is loaded. The drive down is part of that price from the start, and when we give you a price, we stand behind it.

Shellman Bluff means a whole lot more than the little spot Google puts a pin on. It isn’t a town the way Brunswick or Darien is. It’s a collection of little communities, roads, landings, fish camps and neighborhoods scattered through the marsh, and people describe where they live the way folks around here always have: “I’m down past Cooper’s Point.” “We’re over toward Julienton.” “Come down River Road toward the Bluff.”

The work looks like the place. Boats, docks, fishing gear and marine junk. Sheds and garages full of gear. Old cottages and family places that have been passed down for generations, and estates. Old houses mixed right in with newer ones.

Out at Sutherland Bluff and Cooper’s Point, people expect you to treat the place right, and we do. We coordinate the gate, mind the neighbors and the driveway, and leave the property the way we found it, minus what you wanted gone. You don’t show up out here acting like you’re at the landfill.

These are folks who know exactly what time the tide turns without looking at their phone. We aren’t trying to convince anybody that we know McIntosh County. We actually do.

Where we work around Shellman Bluff

Start at the old Bluff, down around the river and the fish camps, where some of the cottages have sat under the live oaks longer than most of us have been around. Shellman Bluff Road runs down to it — River Road, the way a lot of folks still say it — and Old Shellman Road is part of how people know this end of the county.

Julienton is where Shellman Bluff starts feeling like Shellman Bluff: little roads running toward the water, old houses mixed with newer ones, boats everywhere and sheds full of fishing gear. Sutherland Bluff is its own thing, with the golf course, the gated community and homes looking out over the marsh and the Sapelo River. Cooper’s Point is beautiful homes, marsh and winding roads.

Pine Harbor and White Chimney have that old McIntosh fishing-country feel: boats, docks and tidal water. Belleville is part of this end of the county too, and if you keep going you’re into Crescent. Head back the other way and you come out to Highway 17 at Eulonia and Townsend.

How we work

How we work in Shellman Bluff.

Shellman Bluff sits off Highway 17 above Eulonia, and the way in is down Shellman Bluff Road — River Road, the way a lot of folks still say it — toward the Bluff. It’s a real drive from Brunswick, and the drive is part of the price we quote you up front, never something added at the end.

There’s no blanket same-day promise out here, but we’re not hard to get, either. Call or text and we’ll give you the next available opening, then an honest window once the day is routed. Boats and docks take more planning than a couch call, so on those we’d rather have a few days than none.

Everything leaves on our truck. We figure out where each thing should go by what it is, the shape it’s in and the job. Usable things may go to organizations we work with, and they decide what they accept. Metal goes to scrap recycling. The McIntosh County landfill can’t take electronics, so electronics from McIntosh jobs go to Broadhurst, which takes certain broken electronics. The rest goes where it properly belongs.

Seasonality

Timing and seasonal rhythm.

Hurricane season is the same coastal reality here that it is everywhere we work: after the wind comes through, limbs, debris and storm-damaged things move up the list.

How it works

How a job goes.

We’ve learned over the years that simple beats fancy. Same four steps on every job.

  1. Show us what you’ve got

Call us or send a few pictures. You don’t need to inventory every coffee table and garbage bag — just tell us what you’re dealing with, and we’ll ask whatever else we need to know.

  2. You get the price before we start

Nobody wants to watch a crew load their belongings while wondering what the bill’s going to be. We confirm your price before the first item goes on the truck. If something turns out materially different from what was described, we talk about it before doing the work.

  3. You point. We lift.

Show us what goes and we’ll carry it. Upstairs, downstairs, garage, attic, back bedroom, or wherever somebody managed to wedge it. You hired us so you wouldn’t have to lift it. So don’t.

  4. We sweep up and sort the load

Once everything’s out, we clean up the area we worked in. Good furniture shouldn’t automatically become landfill, and neither should scrap metal or electronics. We donate what can truly be reused, recycle what ought to be recycled, and properly dispose of what’s actually trash.

Junk removal truck volume pricing tiersSide view of a Golden Isles Junk Removal box truck. Five fill-level tiers are marked inside the cargo box: tier 1 at one eighth of volume, tier 2 at one quarter, tier 3 at one half, tier 4 at three quarters, and tier 5 at full volume. Refer to the pricing table for dollar ranges per tier.12345

21/4 truck$150–$250
31/2 truck$250–$400
43/4 truck$400–$550

Junk removal pricing in the Golden Isles is based on truck volume— how much space your stuff fills in our truck. That’s it. No per-item nickel-and-diming, no “labor fees,” no surprise dump charges.

The table is where most jobs land. Which rung you are on depends on how much of the truck you fill, so send photos or let us look and we’ll tell you which one before anything is loaded.

You’ll always see a final price in writing before we load anything. If you say no, we walk away — no charge.

Specialty items (hot tubs, pianos, safes) have separate pricing. Multi-truck jobs priced as one project.

Where things land

Where the load actually goes.

What comes off a Shellman Bluff job gets sorted like every job we run — donated, recycled, reused or disposed of as appropriate. A few of the organizations we often work with:

  • Donation

    Habitat for Humanity ReStore

Usable furniture, cabinets, doors, and fixtures they can use — they decide what they accept. They resell; proceeds build homes in Glynn County.

  • Donation

    Boys & Girls Club

Usable furniture, household goods, and equipment when they have a use for it — acceptance is theirs to decide.

  • Donation

    Salvation Army

Furniture, household goods, and clothing in genuinely usable condition, subject to what they are taking at the time.

  • Donation

    Goodwill

Household goods, smaller furniture, and usable items their donation centers will accept.

  • Recycling

    SA Recycling

Scrap metal — appliance shells, fencing, structural steel from demolitions. Regional coastal coverage across southeast Georgia.

These are regional relationships across our whole service area rather than organizations specific to any one town, and they are not a fixed routing order — where a piece ends up depends on the item, its condition, the location, acceptance, and the circumstances of the job. The part worth understanding is that usable and donatable are not the same thing. A perfectly good sofa can be declined for condition, sanitation, warehouse space, what they already have, what is currently moving, staffing, transport, or simply their policy that week. So this is a list of organizations we actively look to rather than a promise about where your particular item lands. Sometimes the better answer isn’t an organization at all, and something goes straight to a family who needs it.
