When you text us photos, we set your price, schedule your crew, and do the work — the same company from the first message to the last item on the truck. Golden Isles Junk Removal started in Brunswick — as an idea two friends talked through over dinner at LongHorn Steakhouse in Brunswick. One of the owners grew up in Brunswick, and his family is from here. So this company has real roots in this community, and a lot of firsthand experience working in it.
Call and Stephanie usually answers herself. If she can’t, another real person normally does — no call center, no script — and a missed call usually gets returned within about 15 minutes. The person on the other end knows the Torras Causeway from the Sidney Lanier Bridge, and knows that Sea Island is private, so we coordinate access with the homeowner, property manager or caretaker before we head over.
We run real trucks out of Brunswick. We route them across Glynn, McIntosh, and Camden counties. We’ve hauled oyster-damaged decks out of St. Simons backyards after summer storms, cleared seven decades of accumulated belongings from a Darien farmhouse for an estate attorney, and pulled a thousand pounds of drywall from a Frederica Road renovation.
We know downtown and Old Town Brunswick, where the old houses come with steep stairs and the parking takes some planning. We know Pier Village on St. Simons, where congestion and parking mean getting in and out efficiently is part of the job. On East Beach, parking, access and where the trailer sits are part of the plan. Up in Frederica, it’s larger properties, gates and a longer carry to the truck. And on Sea Island, once access is set, the job is the same as anywhere: show up when we said we would, take everything that’s supposed to go, take care of the drive and the landscaping, and clean up behind us.
We’d rather see a good piece of furniture used again than buried, but donation centers are not an extension of the landfill — they decide what they’ll accept, and condition matters. There is no single answer to where a load goes — we figure out the right destination from what’s on the truck. Construction debris and yard material often go to Republic on Young Lane in Brunswick, which takes both, and metal and dead appliances usually go to SA Recycling. On McIntosh County jobs, broken electronics go to a place such as Broadhurst, because the McIntosh facility can’t take them. You never have to sort any of it out yourself.
If you’re calling from Dock Junction, Country Club Estates, Blythe Island, Redfern Village, or along Demere — we know the area. Where there’s a gate, a tight driveway or a condo lot with nowhere obvious to stage, working out access and taking care of the property is our job, not yours. That’s what “local” is supposed to mean.

The minimum for any pickup is $95. Truck-load pricing runs $95 to $750 depending on how much of the truck you fill; you get one firm number from your photos before we load anything. A single couch — or a few bags — is our 1/8-truck tier, $95–$150. A bedroom set (5–6 pieces) is our 1/4-truck tier, $150–$250. Whole-house and estate cleanouts, and jobs that take more than one truck, are quoted as a single project after photos or a walkthrough.
If we can do it the same day, we will; if not, we can usually get there the next day. It depends on the size of the job, the equipment it needs, where you are and what’s already on the schedule, and we’ll tell you straight. Camden County and inland areas are scheduled, usually within the week. Call or text (912) 222-1677 — Stephanie usually answers herself.
Not if it’s in the driveway or somewhere easy to get to — we’re happy to pick it up while you’re at work or running errands. For regular pickups inside the home, we generally ask that someone be there. For estate, foreclosure, rental and property cleanouts, or if you live out of town, we coordinate keys, lockboxes or gate codes with the owner or an authorized representative — lockbox codes are something we use all the time.
We figure out the right destination for each thing based on what it is and its condition. Usable items go to local donation outlets when they’ll take them — they decide what they accept, and condition matters. When appliances can be recycled, we route them to the appropriate recycling or disposal facility. Metal is recycled when it can be, and the rest is disposed of properly. You don’t need to sort anything — we do that on the truck.
Almost anything a home or business needs gone. The one real exception is hazardous material — liquid paint, solvents and chemicals, asbestos, medical waste, fuel and oil drums — which needs its own route, and we’ll tell you where to take it. Batteries we take — tell us what kind you have, or send a photo. Let us know about any propane tanks when you send photos, so we can figure out the right way to handle them. For anything else unusual: Send us a few photos, tell us where it is and anything unusual about the job, and we’ll tell you what it takes to get it gone.
