Appliance removal looks like a simple call until you account for what’s actually involved. Refrigerators carry refrigerant that has to be recovered before the unit is disposed of — that isn’t optional and it isn’t skippable, so we handle it the right way every time. Washers and dryers carry water, gas, or 240-volt connections, and a gas line is never something to improvise on moving day. Hot water heaters are full of forty gallons of water that has to drain somewhere. Each of these is a conversation before the carry-out even begins.
The work itself is a careful carry on a dolly. Most appliances move out the same door they came in. Stairs, second-floor laundry rooms, and tight kitchen layouts add minutes. Stainless-steel French-door refrigerators top out at four-hundred pounds and don’t fit through standard interior doors without removing the doors first — we plan for that on the call so the customer isn’t surprised.
Where the work actually differs from moving furniture is the decision about where each unit goes, and that decision starts with one question: does it still work?
A dead refrigerator, freezer, or AC unit carries refrigerant, so it needs a facility set up to recover it.
