Appliance removal across the Golden Isles.
Refrigerators, washers, dryers, stoves, water heaters, freezers. Refrigerant recovered the way EPA rules require. Disconnection handled on site.
Appliance removal looks like a simple call until you account for what’s actually involved. Refrigerators carry refrigerant that has to be recovered before the unit is disposed of — that isn’t optional, it isn’t skippable, and it isn’t something most general-purpose haulers handle correctly. Washers and dryers carry water, gas, or 240-volt connections that need to be cut and capped before the unit moves. Hot water heaters are full of forty gallons of water that has to drain somewhere. Each of these is a fifteen-minute conversation before the carry-out even begins.
The work itself is two-person carry on a dolly. Most appliances move out the same door they came in. Stairs, second-floor laundry rooms, and tight kitchen layouts add minutes. Stainless-steel French-door refrigerators top out at four-hundred pounds and don’t fit through standard interior doors without removing the doors first — we plan for that on the call so the customer isn’t surprised.
Where we do the work differently is the routing. Refrigerators with refrigerant route to certified recyclers — refrigerant gets recovered, the metal goes to scrap, the plastic and insulation go to disposal. Working appliances that customers are upgrading from get separated for resale or donation when the partner network supports it. Scrap-metal recovery happens for everything past the donation window. The landfill is the last stop, not the first.
Some haulers cut corners on refrigerant. We don’t. The cost of doing it right is built into the price — and the price is reasonable.
Who calls us
Who we run this work for.
Homeowners replacing a refrigerator, washer, dryer, or stove and needing the old unit gone the same week. The new appliance arrives Wednesday; the old one needs to leave Thursday. Most appliance jobs are scheduled around the delivery of the replacement.
Remodelers and contractors clearing kitchens before a renovation starts. Whole-kitchen removals — refrigerator, range, dishwasher, microwave, plus the cabinets if cabinet demolition is part of the scope — are common during the first week of a kitchen project.
Landlords and property managers between tenants. Apartments and rental homes turning over with appliances that the new tenants don’t want or that the previous tenants left damaged.
Estate executors clearing a home where the appliances are dated, broken, or simply too tired to be worth selling with the property. Appliance removal is often the last category to clear in an estate — once the kitchen and laundry units are out, the listing photo work can start.
How we do it
From the call to the haul.
Phone quotes work for appliance jobs. Count, type, location, access, disconnect status. Most calls confirm the job in five minutes. Photos help when the layout is tight or the appliances are hard to describe.
We arrive with a two-person crew, a truck, dollies, straps, hand tools, and water-line crimps. The crew checks the disconnect status first — water valves shut and capped, gas lines if applicable shut and capped, electrical disconnected for hardwired units. Hot water heaters drain to a hose run before any moving happens. Refrigerators are checked for residual refrigerant and prepped for transport.
Carry out, load, sweep up, drive off. Refrigerators ride separately when the truck is mixed-load so the refrigerant recovery handoff is clean at the end of the day. Working appliances destined for resale or donation route through their own channel. The customer gets a final receipt; payment is due at completion.
What’s in scope
What we haul, and what we won’t.
What we haul in this category
- Refrigerators, side-by-side, French-door, mini-fridges (refrigerant handled per EPA)
- Freezers, chest freezers, upright freezers
- Washers and dryers (electric and gas)
- Stoves, ranges, ovens, cooktops
- Microwaves, range hoods, vent hoods
- Dishwashers (disconnection included if needed)
- Hot water heaters, tankless water heaters
- Trash compactors, garbage disposals
- Wine coolers, kegerators, beverage centers
- HVAC components (above-floor — outdoor units handled per scope)
What we won’t take
- Active refrigerant work beyond capture for transport — full HVAC recovery requires licensed refrigeration tech
- Live gas line work — we cap at the shutoff; line modification requires licensed plumber
- Hardwired electrical work beyond disconnection at the unit
- In-place appliance repair, parts diagnostics, or salvage of working components for resale
Pricing
How pricing works on these jobs.
Appliance pricing is by unit and access. A standard refrigerator out of an accessible kitchen is the lightest version of this job. A 400-pound French-door fridge down a flight of stairs from a second-floor apartment is the heaviest. Hot water heaters in tight closets where the door has to come off the hinges are their own variable.
Phone quotes are reliable for appliance work because the inputs are countable. Photos help when the layout’s unusual. On-site walkthroughs aren’t typically necessary for appliance-only jobs.
Refrigerant recovery is included in the refrigerator price. We don’t list it separately — we don’t want the customer to wonder whether they paid for the right environmental routing.
