Construction
Carpet removal across the Golden Isles.
Carpet, padding, tack strips, staples. Cut, rolled, hauled. Subfloor swept and ready for what’s next.
Carpet removal is the front end of most flooring renovations. New floors are coming in — hardwood, LVP, tile — and the old carpet has to come out clean enough that the next contractor isn’t fighting tack strips on the subfloor or staples in the corners.
The work is straightforward when the carpet is intact. Cut into manageable strips, roll, haul. The slow parts are the corners where the carpet was tucked under quarter-round, the tack strips along every wall, and the staples that held the padding down. We pull all of it.
Older carpet over plywood subfloor is the cleanest version of this job. Carpet over concrete (basements, slab homes) is straightforward but the tack strips were sometimes nailed into the slab and require more careful prying. Carpet on stairs is the slowest version — every tread gets cut and pulled separately.
What we haul
Specifically, what we take for carpet removal.
- Wall-to-wall carpet
- Carpet padding and underlayment
- Tack strips and gripper strips
- Staples and adhesive residue (best effort)
- Stair carpeting
- Commercial-grade carpet tiles
How we work
How we actually handle it.
Carpet removal is cut, roll, and stack — fast on open rooms, slower with stairs and corners. Most rooms come up in fifteen-to-thirty minutes per room, plus the time to pull tack strips along every wall and staples out of the subfloor.
Tack strips come out with a pry bar and patience. Staples come out individually with pliers — there’s no shortcut, and skipping them leaves the next floor install with problems. We do the part most haulers won’t.
Stairs are real. Carpet on a flight of stairs takes longer than carpet on the same square footage of open floor because every tread gets cut and pulled separately. We charge for the time it actually takes.
Pricing
How pricing works.
Carpet pricing scales with square footage, room layout, and stairs. An empty open-room job is the lightest version. A full-house carpet job with multiple rooms, hallways, and a flight of stairs is heavier work.
We come look at the space — or you send dimensions and photos — and we tell you a real number.

The honest exceptions
What we won’t take — for this item.
A short, honest list of edge cases we either won’t take or want to discuss before we show up. When in doubt, call us — we’ll walk through it before scheduling.
- Carpet contaminated with hazardous materials, biological hazards, or untreated mold
- Carpet bonded to subfloor with adhesives we can’t safely separate without subfloor damage — we’ll discuss the scope on site
