Pricing
How pricing works.
What studio equipment removal costs here. We price by the tier your items fill, starting at $95–$150 for a 1/8 truck; a single item is quoted from a photo so we can confirm the tier before anything is loaded. The number you agree to is the number you pay, and it includes carry-out, the disposal fee and cleanup.
A single enlarger and a few stands is a small share of a truck. A full studio — sinks, cabinets, a print dryer, a wall of shelving and the lighting — takes more of it, and so does a second-floor room or a long carry from the back of a building. If you decide to add the storage closet once we’re there, we’ll tell you what it adds before we touch it. The minimum for any pickup is $95.

Part of our Commercial Junk Removal service
Yes, we take it. A darkroom or a photo studio is a room full of things that were built for one job and are awkward at every other one. An enlarger is a tall column with a heavy head on top and a baseboard at the bottom. A darkroom sink is a long, shallow tub on legs. Light booms, C-stands and backdrop rigs are mostly metal arms that want to swing open while you carry them.
Video and film rooms run heavier. A U-matic deck, a broadcast monitor or a film editing table is dense for its size, and a camera dolly or a small crane is a stack of steel parts. None of it is hard to move once someone knows what it is. That’s most of the job: looking at the room, telling the stands from the junk, and carrying it out without it catching a doorframe.
It usually comes up for one of three reasons. Someone is closing a studio. Someone is downsizing out of a house that had a darkroom in the spare bathroom. Or a family is clearing an estate and finds a whole working photo lab nobody else knew how to use.

How we work
Moving Studio Equipment Out of a Brunswick Building
Stands and booms fold down or come apart at the clamps, and we do that in the room so nothing swings into a wall on the way out. An enlarger usually comes off its column so the head and the baseboard go out separately. A sink or a built-in counter comes out as it’s set up — if it’s plumbed in, show us in the photos and we’ll sort out with you what’s needed when we quote. If anything unusual is still in the room, send us a few photos and tell us where it is, and we’ll tell you what it takes.
Protecting the house is part of it. Floors, doorways and stair rails get the same care as the equipment, and we don’t drag anything heavy across a floor.
Afterward, the destination depends on the piece. Metal stands, frames and dolly parts are usually scrap, often at SA Recycling in Brunswick. Tape decks, monitors and editing gear go to the appropriate electronics recycling or disposal channel. A good enlarger or a clean set of stands may suit someone else, and where that’s realistic we try, though the place receiving it decides what it accepts and condition matters.
A studio closing in Downtown Brunswick and a darkroom tucked into an older house around Arco come with different carries. Downtown, the question is often a second-floor space, a narrow stair and where the truck can sit on the street while the crew works. In an older house, it’s a spare bathroom or a back room with a tight doorway and an enlarger that has to come apart before it fits through. Send a few photos of the room and the way out, and we’ll plan it the same way anywhere in Brunswick.
