Pricing

How pricing works.

What sauna removal costs here. We price by the tier your items fill, starting at $95–$150 for a 1/8 truck; a single item is quoted from a photo so we can confirm the tier before anything is loaded. The number you agree to is the number you pay, and it includes carry-out, the disposal fee and cleanup.

For a sauna, the size and how it’s put together set most of the price. A one-person infrared cabinet in a ground-floor room is a small job. A four-person cedar sauna in an upstairs bonus room, or a barrel sauna at the back of a fenced yard, takes more hands and more time. If it runs a little longer than we figured, that’s on us. The minimum for any pickup is $95.

Yes — saunas are one of the easier big things to get out of a house, once you know how they went in. Almost every home sauna is a kit: wall panels, a ceiling panel, a floor or a duckboard, benches, a glass or wood door, and a heater. It came through the front door in flat pieces, and it goes back out the same way.

That’s the whole trick. We don’t fight it out of the room in one box. The benches and the door come off first, then the heater, then the ceiling, and the walls unscrew or unclip panel by panel. A sauna that looks trapped in a spare bedroom is really just a stack of boards waiting to be unscrewed.

Outdoor barrel saunas are a little different. The staves are held by steel bands, and the barrel sits on a cradle. Some come apart cleanly; one that’s been out in the weather for years may come apart in more pieces than it went together in. Either way, nothing gets dragged across the yard.

How we work

Taking Apart a Backyard Sauna in Brunswick

Most of the work is the carry, not the weight. Each panel is awkward more than heavy, so the crew walks them out one at a time — down a hallway, around a stair landing, out through a side gate or across a deck — with the floors and door frames protected on the way. The heater and the bag of stones are the heavy part, and they go out on their own.

A lot of the smaller infrared units simply plug into a wall outlet. Bigger traditional heaters are often wired in. When licensed electrical or plumbing work is needed, that’s normally handled by you or a licensed pro. Show us what you have and where it is, and we’ll help figure out what’s needed and work around it. Once it’s safe to unhook, the rest is our job.

Afterward, the steel heater housing and the barrel bands can usually go to scrap recycling, often at SA Recycling in Brunswick. A clean, working unit can be offered to one of the donation organizations we work with — they decide what they accept, and condition matters. The wood and the rest leave with the load, and the room or the pad is swept before we go.

Not every sauna in Brunswick is indoors. On a waterfront property on Blythe Island or out at Fancy Bluff, a barrel sauna in the backyard lives in the salt air and the damp summer heat, and the wood and the steel bands show it after a few years. That doesn’t change much about the job. A weathered barrel may come apart in more pieces, and if the yard is soft after a rain, the truck stays on firm ground and the crew walks the staves out. Indoors, a closet or bathroom sauna leaves panel by panel down the hall. Send a photo of the sauna and the way to it from anywhere in Glynn County, and we’ll tell you what it takes.
