Selling a Home in Darien and Need It Empty Before Closing?
Call or Text for the Next Home Sale Cleanout Opening in Darien
Yes. Once the house is under contract the date isn’t yours to move, and the buyer’s final walkthrough is the moment that matters. We clear what isn’t conveying, leave what is exactly where it stands, and finish with time to spare.
Darien
Pre-closing work around Darien
A country sale in McIntosh County usually involves more than the house. The buyer walks the barn, the shed and the fence line too, and sometimes asks for them to be cleared as part of the deal. We plan those into the same visit so you aren’t booking a second trip during closing week.
The house might be on Butler Island or in Ridgeville (The Ridge). Long rural drives take some planning: if the truck has to stop short of an outbuilding, we carry the rest by hand, and a tight drive gets smaller equipment.
Darien days are planned rather than squeezed in, so tell us the closing date and we’ll clear the house a few days before the walkthrough — with time left over for a short return trip if something turns up.
What we haul
What we clear before closing
- Furniture and household goods that aren’t conveying
- Beds, mattresses and bedroom sets
- Appliances that aren’t part of the sale
- Garage, attic, closet and crawlspace contents
- Sheds, barns and outbuildings the buyer wants emptied
- Old fencing, playsets and yard debris
- Whatever was left after the seller moved

What we handle
What we take care of
Send us the closing and walkthrough dates and we schedule backward from your date. Nobody has to be there: the listing agent, a neighbor or a lockbox lets us in. If you need photos or a list of what left for your records, tell us when you book and we’ll work with you.
Anything that looks important, valuable or personal — papers, photographs, letters in the back of a closet — gets brought to you, not decided by the crew.
When it’s a parent’s house, one trip can take the garage, the attic and the storage, and a second the rooms where the family still has choices to make.
Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.
Pricing
What changes the price
What’s actually there and how hard it is to reach. A few leftover pieces are priced by how much of the truck they fill; a full house — rooms, garage, attic and yard — is quoted as one project.
A barn or shed at the far end of the property, and the carry back from it, adds time; the trip out to McIntosh County is already built into the quote.
Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95.
After the pickup
Where it goes
Furniture and housewares someone else could use are often offered to HART in McIntosh County, among other organizations; what they accept is up to them, and condition matters.
Old refrigerators and freezers left in the garage go through the appropriate appliance and refrigerant recycling channel, often SA Recycling in Brunswick, and scrap metal typically goes there as well.
Leftover TVs and electronics go to places like Broadhurst rather than the McIntosh landfill, which can’t take them.
