On a rural McIntosh County property the biggest volume is rarely inside the house. The garage, the workshop and the shed out back have usually been collecting longest, and they make the easiest start because nobody has strong feelings about most of what’s in them. Clearing those first buys the family time for the rooms that hold the real decisions.

After the pickup
Where it goes
Usable furniture, working appliances and household goods are often offered to HART in McIntosh County and other organizations we work with. They decide what they accept and condition matters, so no piece is promised.
A working appliance with life left in it is sometimes repaired and given to a family who needs one; dead refrigerators and freezers go through the appropriate refrigerant recycling channel, often SA Recycling in Brunswick.
Old TVs and other electronics go to places like Broadhurst, since the McIntosh landfill can’t take them.
