Helping a Parent With Senior Downsizing on St. Simons?
Same-Day Downsizing Cleanout on St. Simons Island Often Available — Call or Text
Yes, and almost nobody should try to do it in one weekend. A house that held a family for decades has to fit into an apartment, a cottage or a single room, and the furniture doesn’t shrink to match. We take what isn’t coming along and leave the decisions where they belong — with your parent and the family.
St. Simons Island
Downsizing on the island
Toward the north end, homes are more spread out and the carries run long, and downsizing isn’t fast-turnaround work anywhere on the island. We budget more time and more hands, and when your parent wants to tell the story behind the chair going out the door, the crew stops and listens.
For a home in Frederica or in Sea Palms, the first plan is where the truck sits and how far the walk is from the front door; the second is what the new place actually has room for.
People here notice whether a crew takes its time and leaves a house clean. On a downsizing that counts twice over, because the person whose things these are is usually right there, watching their home come apart.
Most of these jobs run in stages — the garage, the attic and storage first, the rooms with the real decisions later. Spacing the visits also lets us steer around the heaviest summer causeway days when the family’s timing allows.
What we handle
What we take care of
Start with what fits. Once you have the dimensions of the new place, most of the hard questions turn into measuring ones, and we take whatever doesn’t make the cut.
Papers, photographs, keepsakes and anything that looks personal or important are set aside and brought to your attention. On a downsizing there’s usually someone right there to ask, and we ask. Pieces promised to relatives can wait behind a closed door — a room marked as reserved is left alone.
Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.

Pricing
What changes the price
Volume, access and time on site — and the family controls much of the volume, since what’s kept, given to relatives or sold never reaches the truck. Garages and attics often hold more than the living space suggests. A staged clearing is priced per visit, which can cost more than one long day, so we’ll talk the trade through with you.
Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95. We don’t charge extra for same-day pickup when we have an open time slot.
After the pickup
Where it goes
We figure out the right destination for each piece. Usable furniture, working appliances and household goods may be offered to organizations we work with, such as the Salvation Army or Habitat ReStore, and they set their own standards for what they take.
A garage freezer that has died goes to an appropriate refrigerant recycling channel, usually SA Recycling in Brunswick. A working appliance with life left in it is sometimes given an inexpensive repair and passed to a family who needs one.
Mattresses and worn upholstery usually aren’t donation pieces, and we say so rather than call it a donation; for those, we look for responsible reuse, recycling and disposal options when they’re practical and available. All of it leaves the island for Brunswick.
