Old Outboard Motor Sitting in a Shed in Shellman Bluff?
Call or Text for the Next Available Outboard Motor Removal Opening in Shellman Bluff
Yes, any size. An outboard carries its weight in the wrong place: the power head rides high on a long shaft, and the whole motor wants to go over the second it comes off its stand. We strap it and keep it upright on the way out, whether it’s a little kicker one person can carry or a big V6 off a bay boat that nobody should be lifting by hand.
Shellman Bluff
Motors that outlived the boat
Around Shellman Bluff the boat and the motor don’t always leave together. The hull gets sold or scrapped, the motor gets pulled off to rebuild one of these days, and then it lives in a shed or under the carport with a prop and a coffee can of parts beside it. Sheds and garages full of gear are a big part of what this end of McIntosh County looks like, and an outboard nobody has cranked in a long while fits right in.
It could be a motor on a wooden stand in a shed out at White Chimney or one bolted to a sawhorse in a carport as you come down River Road toward the Bluff. Out where it’s boats, docks and tidal water, a motor that won’t start gets set aside rather than thrown out, and after enough seasons it’s just in the way of the gear people actually use.
Trolling motors and the odd inboard or outdrive pile up the same way, and they can all go on one trip.
What we handle
How a motor gets out
Your photos tell us roughly how big the motor is and what’s between it and the truck: a step down out of the shed, a gravel drive, a soft patch of yard. Small motors get carried. Bigger ones ride a dolly, strapped and upright, because a heavy motor tipping on a step is exactly how a doorframe gets gouged.
Old fuel or oil still in it is normal for a motor that’s been sitting. Mention it with your photos and we’ll sort it out with you when we quote.
Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.

What we haul
What we take

- Trolling motors and small kicker motors
- Inboard engines already out of the hull
- Parts boxes, control boxes, cables and cracked cowlings
After the pickup
Where the motor goes
Everything leaves on our truck, and we work out where each part should go by what it is.
The block, shaft and lower unit are metal, and metal usually goes to scrap recycling, often at SA Recycling in Brunswick.
A depth finder or an old radio riding along in the parts box usually goes to Broadhurst, which takes certain broken electronics, since the McIntosh County landfill can’t take them.
Rotted hoses, cracked cowlings and the rest go where they properly belong.
Pricing
What sets the price on an outboard
One motor doesn’t take much room on the truck. Its weight and the carry decide most of it, plus whatever else is leaving with it: a kicker in a carport is a small job, a big four-stroke at the back of a packed shed with a pile of parts around it is more.
The run down from Brunswick is figured into the price you get up front, never tacked on at the end, and if an old boat or trailer is going too, the motor rides along in the same quote. Once you have our number, that’s the number.
Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95.
