Yes. Sound enough to lift out in one piece or soft enough that it has to come apart where it sits, we can get a boat gone. Years of sitting is normal and it doesn’t stop us; it just changes how the thing comes out.

Shellman Bluff

Boats on this end of the county

Shellman Bluff isn’t one spot on a map. It’s little roads, landings, fish camps and neighborhoods strung out through the marsh, and boats come with the territory. One that quits running gets pulled up beside the house, behind the shed or back under the trees, and life goes on around it until somebody decides it’s time.

If you’re over toward Julienton, the boat may be only part of what you want gone. Back there the little roads run toward the water and the sheds fill up with fishing gear, so tell us about the motor, the trailer and the gear while you’re at it, because we look at boat, motor and trailer as one complete job.

Down at the old Bluff a boat may be tucked in close to an old cottage under the live oaks. Low limbs, a tight gap between buildings or soft ground by the water decide how it comes out: whole on our equipment, or broken down right there and carried out in pieces.

Coming down River Road from Brunswick is a real drive, and it’s built into the price we quote you up front, never tacked on later. A boat takes more planning than a couch call, so we would rather have a few days than none to look over your photos first.

What we handle

How the boat comes out

We work out the access from your photos: where the boat sits, what’s between it and the road, whether the trailer will still roll. That tells us whether it leaves in one piece or several before the truck ever heads down.

If it has to be cut down where it sits, the fiberglass, wood and hardware our own cutting makes ride out with the boat. The goal is that the spot looks like a boat was removed, not like a boat was demolished there.

Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.

What we haul

The boats we take

Examples, not a limit. If it floated once, send a picture.

  • Fiberglass bowriders, runabouts and bass boats
  • Aluminum jon boats and fishing skiffs
  • Pontoon boats, rotten decking and all
  • Jet skis, often two on one trailer
  • Small sailboats and catamarans
  • Cabin cruisers
  • A boat with the outboard still hanging on the transom
  • The trailer, with the boat or by itself

After the pickup

Where the boat goes

Everything leaves on our truck, and we figure out where each piece should go by what it is and the shape it’s in.

The hull is the part that takes thought. Fiberglass boat disposal is far more complex than landfilling a hull, and we’ve developed legitimate downstream processes for dismantled fiberglass.

An aluminum hull, the trailer frame and other metal that can realistically be separated usually goes to scrap recycling, most often at SA Recycling in Brunswick.

Waterlogged wood, rotten decking and ruined cushions go to disposal.

A dead depth finder or radio from the console doesn’t go in with the rest, since the McIntosh County landfill can’t take electronics; electronics from McIntosh jobs go to a channel such as Broadhurst, which takes certain broken electronics.

Pricing

What changes the price of a boat

The boat itself comes first: its size, its condition, and whether it leaves whole or in pieces. A hull that has been soaking up rain for years is a heavier job than the same boat dry, and owners tend to remember what the boat weighed when it was new.

Then where it sits. Access and condition drive that far more than length does: how far it is from the road, how close we can get equipment, and whether there’s a trailer that still rolls. The drive down is in the number from the start, and once we give you a price, we stand behind it.

Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95.
