A conference table almost never has a furniture problem. It has a building problem. The table itself sits in one room and does nothing all day — the trouble starts the moment you try to make it leave.

Most boardroom tables are either one solid slab or a multi-section top resting on a heavy pedestal base, and the dimension that matters isn’t the weight, it’s the length. A top built for ten or twelve seats was carried into that room when the walls were further apart, the door was off its hinges, or the freight elevator still ran. Years later, the only way out is rarely the way it came in. Add a stone or thick-hardwood top and you’re moving something that fights every corner in the corridor.

So we don’t show up and start carrying. We measure the table, then we measure the path — the doorway, the turn at the end of the hall, the elevator car if there is one. If the math doesn’t work, we separate the top from the base or take the top apart at its sections before anything moves. The table is leaving; the doorframe and the elevator trim shouldn’t leave with it.

What we haul

Specifically, what we take for conference table removal.

  • Boardroom and conference tables
  • Modular and multi-section conference tables
  • Racetrack and boat-shape tops
  • Solid-slab hardwood and veneer tops
  • Stone, granite, and glass tops
  • Heavy pedestal and trestle bases
  • Training and seminar tables

How we work

How we actually handle it.

The first question on any conference table job is whether it fits through the door in one piece, and the honest answer is usually no. A top long enough to seat a full board was built around the room, not for the hallway outside it. We arrive expecting to take it apart — separating a sectional top at its seams, lifting a slab off its base, or breaking down a pedestal — and we’re pleasantly surprised on the rare jobs where it walks out whole.

Access is the rest of the story. Office corridors have a turn somewhere, doorways are narrower than the table is long, and a freight elevator with a posted weight limit changes how we stage the carry. When the building has no freight elevator and the table lives above the ground floor, we plan the stairwell route before we touch anything — a long top can’t pivot on a tight landing, so it gets sectioned first.

Stone and thick-hardwood tops add real weight on top of the length, and those don’t flex or forgive. We bring straps, dollies, and the manpower the piece actually needs rather than guessing from a photo. Tell us the seat count, the floor it’s on, and whether there’s an elevator, and we’ll know most of what we’re walking into before we arrive.

Pricing

How pricing works.

Conference table pricing comes down to size, weight, and access — the same three things that make the job hard. A short table on a ground floor near a loading door is the light version. A long stone-topped boardroom table on an upper floor with no freight elevator is the heavy one, because it has to be sectioned and carried down a stair by hand.

We don’t quote a flat per-table rate, because no two boardrooms are the same and pretending otherwise would mean overcharging the easy jobs and underquoting the hard ones. Call us with the seat count, the floor, and the way out, and we’ll give you a real number for your table in your building.

The honest exceptions

What we won’t take — for this item.

A short, honest list of edge cases we either won’t take or want to discuss before we show up. When in doubt, call us — we’ll walk through it before scheduling.

  • Tables we cannot safely separate or carry without damaging the building — we will tell you on the call if the access rules it out
  • Tables contaminated with hazardous materials
