A loveseat is the small two-seat couch — the one that fits where a full sofa won’t. We pull them out of apartments, condos, and rental units all over Brunswick and the islands, usually because somebody is moving, upgrading, or finally clearing out a room that’s been doubling as storage.
Compared to a full couch, a loveseat is the easy version on paper. It’s lighter, it’s shorter, and most of them come out on a one- or two-person carry without much fuss. The weight is rarely what makes the job. What makes the job is the building it lives in: tight apartment stairwells, narrow rental doorways, and the kind of turn at the bottom of a landing that a loveseat clears by an inch or not at all.
So we plan for the path, not just the piece. We measure the angle in our heads before we lift, we protect the doorframe and the floor, and we don’t force a turn that’s going to scuff a wall you’ll get charged for. The loveseat is leaving either way — the deposit-sensitive parts of a rental should look untouched when we go.

How we work
How we actually handle it.
Most loveseats are a quick in-and-out. Two people, straps if we want them, dollies for the longer carries — and a lot of the time it’s a single-person lift to the truck once we’re past the doorway. The piece itself almost never fights us.
The building does. Apartment and condo loveseats live behind the trickiest access we see: switchback stairs, doors that open against the carry direction, and hallways narrow enough that the loveseat has to go vertical to make the corner. Reclining loveseats add a wrinkle — the mechanism makes them heavier and bulkier than a plain two-seater, and the footrest end doesn’t collapse as flat as you’d hope. We come ready for the room and the route, so the tight spots don’t turn a fifteen-minute job into an afternoon.
Where the loveseat ends up depends on its condition. A well-kept piece sometimes has a second life ahead of it; one that’s been worn down over years of daily use usually doesn’t. We’ll tell you honestly on site rather than promise a donation that isn’t realistic.

There’s less to lift than a full sofa or a sectional, it almost never needs to be taken apart, and a clean ground-floor carry is about as simple as furniture removal gets. What moves the number is access, not size. A loveseat from a third-floor apartment with a single tight stairwell takes more time and more care than the same piece sitting by a garage door.
