Pricing
How pricing works.
What workbench removal costs here. We price by the tier your items fill, starting at $95–$150 for a 1/8 truck; a single item is quoted from a photo so we can confirm the tier before anything is loaded. The number you agree to is the number you pay, and it includes carry-out, the disposal fee and cleanup.
A rolling chest or a freestanding bench is a single item, quoted from a photo. A built-in bench, a pegboard wall and a lumber rack running down one side of the garage is priced by how much there is and how long it takes to free it from the wall. If the rest of the garage is going too, it’s all one price. The minimum for any pickup is $95.

Part of our Garage Cleanouts service
Yes, we take out workbenches and the tool storage that goes with them. The most common one is homemade: a 2x4 frame screwed into the studs, a plywood or butcher-block top, and a shelf underneath that has collected forty years of coffee cans and extension cords. It was built in place, so it usually won’t go out the door in one piece. It was never meant to.
So it comes apart the way it went together. The top comes off, the frame unscrews from the wall, and the legs and stretchers go out in pieces. Steel benches unbolt. A vise, a bench grinder or anything else bolted to the top comes off first and rides separately. When the bench is out, a row of screw holes is about all that’s left, and the floor gets swept.
Rolling tool chests are the other big piece. A full one — Craftsman, Husky, Kobalt, Snap-on, whatever it is — is heavier than it looks, and the top box usually lifts off the bottom cabinet so each half goes on its own. If the tools inside are staying with you, say so and we’ll leave them. If they’re going, they can go right in the drawers.

How we work
Workbench and Tool Chest Pickup From Brunswick Garages
Most of the time on a workbench job goes into the fasteners, not the carry. A bench lagged into the studs, a storage cage anchored to the slab, or a pegboard wall with a screw every few inches takes longer to free than to haul. A couple of photos of where the bench meets the wall and the floor tell us what we’re dealing with. On a parent’s place, anything in the drawers that looks personal or important gets set aside for you, not decided by the crew.
Steel benches, tool chests and storage cages usually go to scrap recycling, often at SA Recycling in Brunswick. A sound tool chest or a solid bench can have plenty of life left for somebody else, and the organizations we work with decide what they can use. Wood benches and plywood leave with the rest of the load.
A garage toward Blythe Island or a shop out along Highway 341 might have a workbench that’s been there longer than anybody remembers — built in place, screwed to the studs, a vise still on the corner and a pegboard wall behind it full of hooks. It comes apart the way it went together, and the rolling chest, the lumber rack and the creeper go out with it. A photo of where the bench meets the wall, plus one of the garage door or the way out, is enough to price it. That goes for garages in every part of Brunswick.
