The short version

Military Move-Out Cleanout at a glance.

What it is
Clearing what is not going to the next duty station on a PCS move -- furniture, mattresses, garage and patio leftovers -- from a house or rental, on the date the family has to be out.
What’s included
  • Carry-out from any room, the garage, the attic and the patio
  • Work around everything that is going with you
  • Usable items offered to local organizations, which decide what they accept
  • Lockbox or property-manager access if you have already left
  • A swept space when the truck is loaded
How pricing works
Priced by how much of the truck the leftovers fill, or as one project for a whole house. Firm price from your pictures; it changes only if you add to the job.

Yes, we take care of PCS cleanouts, and they almost always start the same way. Orders come in. The family has a date. The packers are booked. And suddenly everybody is standing in the garage deciding what’s going to the next duty station, what’s getting donated and what is absolutely not getting loaded onto that truck. That last pile is ours.

A family that’s been in a house for two or three years has filled it up since the last PCS without really trying. The old couch. Mattresses. A broken dresser. Kids’ bikes they’ve outgrown. Patio furniture, garage shelving, and whatever has been sitting in the attic or the storage room since the last time orders came. None of it is worth shipping, and all of it has to be gone before the keys go back.

You’re already dealing with paperwork, schools, travel and finding the next place to live. Getting rid of the leftovers shouldn’t turn into one more ordeal. We work with families living off post and off base, here in Brunswick and in the towns around Fort Stewart and Kings Bay, and the job runs the same way wherever the house is.

Who calls us

Who we run this work for.

What’s riding with you. That’s the first thing, and it’s yours to decide. Tell us, or point to it when the crew gets there, and they work around it. If everything that’s going sits in one room, nothing from that side ends up on our truck by mistake.

Ahead of the packers or after them. Coming a few days before means the packers only touch what’s actually going, and the house is easier to live in for that last week. Coming after works when you’re still deciding — you take what you want, and we take everything that’s left once the moving truck pulls off.

What’s worth giving away. Furniture and household goods in decent shape can go to local organizations we work with, like the Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity ReStore or Goodwill. They decide what they’ll accept, and condition matters, so a sagging mattress isn’t going to a good home just because it would be nice. Whatever they pass on, we handle.

Whether you’ll still be here. Plenty of families are already at the next duty station when the old place finally gets cleared. That’s fine.

How we do it

A Military Move-Out From a Brunswick Rental

It starts with pictures. Send us a few of each room, the garage and the yard, and tell us when you have to be out. An estimator looks at what you’ve got and gets a firm price back to you, usually within about 30 minutes, sometimes faster.

On the day, the crew carries everything from wherever it sits — the back bedroom, the attic, the far corner of the garage, the patio. Nothing has to be dragged to the curb first. Before anything big comes through the house, they look at the best way out so the floors, walls and door frames you’re handing back to a landlord stay the way they were. Moving blankets and coverings go down where they’re needed, a door comes off its hinges if that’s what it takes, and the area gets swept when the truck is loaded.

If you’ve already left, a property manager, a neighbor or a lockbox can let us in. The photos and the price come to your phone, and you can say yes from wherever the orders took you. Payment is handled through our office — all major credit cards, checks, Venmo and Cash App — so nobody has to be standing in the driveway to settle up.

Same-day pickup is often available in Brunswick, St. Simons Island and the Golden Isles — call or text for the next available opening. Camden County and inland areas are scheduled, usually within the week, so it helps to call as soon as your dates firm up. We don’t charge extra for same-day pickup when we have an open time slot.

If your orders are taking you out of Brunswick, the house might be a rental along the Altama Avenue corridor or a place out around Harry Driggers Boulevard. Either way, the job runs the same: pictures of each room and the garage, the date you have to be out, and a firm price back on your phone. The crew carries out everything that isn’t making the trip, works around what is, and sweeps up behind itself, so the walkthrough with your landlord isn’t held up by a pile in the carport. It’s the same plan wherever you’re living in Brunswick.

What’s in scope

What we haul.

What we haul in this category

  • Couches, sectionals and recliners that won’t fit the next place
  • Mattresses, box springs, bed frames and bunk beds
  • Broken dressers, desks and particleboard furniture that won’t survive another move
  • Outgrown bikes, toys, cribs and kids’ furniture
  • Patio furniture, grills and garage shelving
  • Refrigerators, freezers, washers and dryers that aren’t going
  • Storage-unit contents that never got unpacked
  • Whatever the packers left behind

Let us know about any propane tanks when you send photos, so we can figure out the right way to handle them.

Pricing

How pricing works on these jobs.

A PCS cleanout is priced on what’s actually leaving. A few pieces of furniture and some garage odds and ends are priced by how much of the truck they fill. A whole house of things that aren’t making the trip — every room, the garage, the patio and a storage unit — is quoted as one project.

Stairs, attics and long carries are built into the price at the start. The price we give you is the price you pay. It changes only if you add to the job — another room, a storage unit you forgot about — and we talk about that before the extra work, not after. The minimum for any pickup is $95.

Going, donated, and not getting on that truck

Every orders move ends up as three piles, usually in the garage. What’s going to the next duty station. What’s getting donated. And everything that simply isn’t making the trip.

You sort the first one. We can help with the second, offering what’s in good shape to the organizations we work with, knowing they decide what they’ll take. The third pile is the one nobody wants to think about while they’re also trying to get a family across the country, and that’s the whole job for us.

If the piles get mixed up in the rush, that’s normal. Tell the crew, and they’ll stop and ask before anything questionable goes on the truck.

When the house goes back to a landlord

A lot of families on orders are renting, and the last thing between them and the move is handing back an empty house. Leftover furniture, a garage that never got sorted and a pile by the back door can stand between you and a clean walkthrough.

We clear what’s left, carry it out without tearing up the place on the way, and sweep up behind ourselves. If your property manager is the one letting us in after you’ve gone, that works too.
