Clearing a Parent’s Estate in Brunswick, at the Family’s Pace
Same-Day Estate Cleanout in Brunswick Often Available — Call or Text
Help when a life change leaves a house to clear
These are the cleanouts that come with something bigger going on. A parent has passed and the family has inherited the house, maybe with probate still open. Mom or Dad is moving somewhere smaller, and most of the furniture won’t fit. You’re moving, or you’ve already moved and the movers left the rest behind. A PCS move is on the calendar. The house is under contract and has to be empty before closing. A lender has a foreclosed home that still holds someone’s life. Or a home has quietly become too full to live in comfortably.
Yes, we handle all of it — the whole house, a few rooms at a time, or just what isn’t coming along.
What makes this work different isn’t the lifting. Keepsakes, papers and family photos are mixed in with the junk, and the people making the calls are often grieving, stretched thin, or several states away. That’s the part we pay the most attention to.
Some of these calls come during the hardest weeks a family has. We’ve learned to tell when somebody wants to talk about the person whose house it was, and when they’d rather we simply got to work. Either one is fine by us. We go at the pace you set, nobody gets rushed or judged, and we try to show your family the same patience and respect we’d hope someone would show ours.

How a family cleanout usually goes
It usually starts with a phone call and a few photos, or a walk through the house by video call if you’re not nearby. We confirm what the family is keeping, what conveys with a sale, and how we’ll get in — a lockbox or your agent works fine. Then you get a firm price.
The house doesn’t have to be cleared all at once, and often it shouldn’t be. A common first visit takes the volume that carries no decisions — garage, attic, outbuildings, storage — and later visits take the rooms where the real choices are. Changing your mind mid-job about a dresser or a box is normal.
If something looks personal, important or potentially valuable — a photo album, a folder of papers, something that looks old — we stop and ask instead of guessing. On a hoarding job, nothing leaves that the person, or the family member or professional deciding with them, hasn’t released, and we work in stages so the decisions don’t pile up. If you’re moving, we can come ahead of the movers so they only pack what’s going with you.
Afterward, furniture and household goods with life left may go to the Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity ReStore or another local organization — they decide what they accept, and condition matters. The rest is recycled or disposed of appropriately, and the house is left swept.
What changes the price
Volume leads: how many rooms are full, and how much of a truck — or how many trucks — that takes. A house cleared in stages is priced visit by visit, so each trip is quoted for what leaves on it. Stairs, a long carry from the back bedroom to the driveway, heavy pieces like a piano or an old chest freezer, and rooms packed tight from floor to ceiling all add hands and hours. A whole estate, or anything past one truck, is quoted as one project after photos or a walkthrough.
Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95.
