The short version

Retail Store Cleanouts at a glance.

What it is
Emptying a retail store front to back -- fixtures, stockroom, leftover merchandise, signage, back office and break room -- for a closing, a remodel or a tenant turnover.
What’s included
  • Shelving, racks, counters and display cases broken down on site
  • Back stock and leftover merchandise, offered for donation where it fits
  • Back-office furniture, registers and electronics
  • Scheduling around store hours and the shopping center's loading rules
  • A swept, empty space at the end
How pricing works
Priced on how much is in the store, how it gets out and how long the crew is on site; the firm price from photos or a walkthrough holds unless you add to the job. Stores pay by major credit card, check, Venmo or Cash App through our office; commercial account terms may be available for approved customers.

Yes, we clean out retail stores, front to back. A store cleanout is a lot more than the shelving. It’s the racks and the counters, yes, but also the stockroom of cartons that never made it to the floor, last season’s displays, the signage, the register stand, the break room, the manager’s office and the pile of broken fixtures by the back door that’s been waiting for “someday.”

Most of these jobs start with a date. The lease ends, the remodel crew starts Monday, the new tenant gets the keys on the first. We plan the work back from that date, so the space is empty, swept and ready for whoever comes next, with no last-minute scramble.

When the job is only the fixtures — a reset, a few runs of shelving, a glass counter — it’s a smaller visit and priced that way. When the store is closing for good, it’s everything that isn’t going with you.

Who calls us

Who we run this work for.

Owners closing a store. Some of the stock is sold, some is going home in the car, and the rest — plus every fixture, the back room and the office — has to be out before the keys go back.

Owners remodeling or resetting. The old fixtures and displays have to leave before the new ones are delivered, often after close so the doors stay open during the day.

New tenants who inherited the last store. Racks, counters, signage and boxes the previous tenant walked away from, sitting between you and your buildout.

Landlords and property managers with a vacant unit. When a tenant has left a store full, we work with the landlord or manager who has the right to clear it, and the space goes back on the market empty.

How we do it

Emptying a Brunswick Retail Store Before the Keys Go Back

Send us a few photos of the sales floor, the stockroom, the office and the door you’d like us to use, and tell us the date you’re working toward. When photos won’t tell the whole story, a short walkthrough is available. We give you a firm price, confirmed before anything is loaded.

We schedule around the store and the center it sits in — before opening, after close or on a day you’re shut. If the center has a loading door, a service corridor or hours a truck can sit at the back, we plan around that with you or the property manager. A certificate of insurance goes to whoever needs one before the job.

On the day, fixtures that come apart with hand tools get broken down on the floor, the stockroom is cleared in loads, and everything is carried out on dollies with the floor protected. When the space is empty it gets swept. If nobody can be there, we can work out keys or a lockbox with you or your authorized representative.

Same-day pickup is often available in Brunswick, St. Simons Island and the Golden Isles — call or text for the next opening. Camden County and inland areas are scheduled, usually within the week. A whole store with a lease date behind it gets planned back from that date.

A store here can be a bay in a strip center around Dock Junction, where the back door opens onto a service lane shared with the neighbors, or a freestanding building along Golden Isles Parkway with its own lot. The cleanout is the same work either way — sales floor, stockroom, back office — but where the truck can sit and the hours it can stay there change from one center to the next. Tell us where the store is and the day the keys go back, and we’ll plan it for any storefront around Glynn County.

What’s in scope

What we haul.

What we haul in this category

  • Gondola shelving, wall shelving and stockroom racking
  • Glass display cases, checkout counters and cash wraps
  • Clothing racks, mannequins, slatwall and display tables
  • Leftover merchandise, back stock and seasonal displays
  • Signage, banners, window displays and old point-of-purchase stands
  • Back-office desks, chairs, filing cabinets and safes
  • Break-room furniture, refrigerators and microwaves
  • Cardboard, packing material and general store junk

Pricing

How pricing works on these jobs.

Retail store cleanouts are priced on volume, access and time on site. A small boutique’s racks and a stockroom of boxes on a ground floor is the light end. A large sales floor of gondola runs, a full back room, glass counters and an after-hours window at a loading door is the heavy end. After-hours timing is planned into the number up front.

You get a firm price before anything is loaded, and it holds unless you add to the job — anything extra is agreed with you first. The minimum for any pickup is $95. When it’s time to settle up, a store can pay with any major credit card, a check, Venmo or Cash App, all handled through our office, and commercial account terms may be available for approved customers.

What happens to the stock nobody bought

Unsold merchandise is the part of a store cleanout that feels the worst to throw away, and often it doesn’t have to be. Clothing, housewares, furniture and other goods in good condition can be offered to the donation organizations we work with — the Salvation Army, Goodwill, Habitat for Humanity ReStore, HART, the Boys & Girls Club and others.

They decide what they accept. Condition matters, and so does what they already have too much of, so donation is something we pursue for you rather than promise for any particular box. What can’t be reused goes where the material fits: metal fixtures usually to scrap recycling, often at SA Recycling in Brunswick, and the rest with the load.

The back office, the registers and the break room

Every store has a back room that nobody photographs for the listing. Desks, a filing cabinet, a safe, old registers and the monitors and printers that ran the checkout. Electronics go through the appropriate electronics recycling or disposal channel. If a register, computer or drive still holds store data, tell us, and we work around your timing for wiping it.

A break-room refrigerator or a drink cooler from the front counter goes through the appropriate refrigerant recycling channel, often SA Recycling in Brunswick. It all leaves on the same trip as the sales floor.
