Need an Old Bathtub Hauled Out of a Darien Home?
Call or Text for the Next Bathtub Removal Opening in Darien
Can we take the old tub? Yes. A clawfoot that has been in the house longer than anyone can say, a cast-iron alcove tub, a fiberglass tub-and-shower unit or a walk-in tub — all of it goes. Cast iron is the heavy one: a single one can run past three hundred pounds, and we plan for that from the first photo.
What we handle
How we get it out
When a cast-iron tub is too heavy and the stairs too tight to carry it whole, we break it into pieces in the room and carry the pieces out, with the surrounding finishes protected. Steel tubs are lighter but still a real carry; acrylic and fiberglass are light but awkward.
A whirlpool brings a motor, a pump and wiring under the deck along with it, and we take the whole assembly. When licensed electrical or plumbing work is needed, that’s normally handled by you or a licensed pro. Show us what you have and where it is, and we’ll help figure out what’s needed and work around it.
Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.

Darien
Bathtubs around Darien
Darien’s older homes are where the heavy tubs tend to be. Around the river district, Broad Street, Vernon Square and the courthouse, the streets are narrower and there’s less room to pull a truck up close, so the walk-out gets more thought than usual. A cast-iron tub coming down an old staircase is exactly the kind of carry we take slowly, with the floors and door frames around it protected.
An upstairs bathroom in Downtown Darien gets the same treatment as one in a home out in Ardick. Before we drive out, we look at your photos of the bathroom, the stairs and the path to the door, so the right number of hands shows up.
A tub seldom leaves on its own. The vanity, the toilet, a tile surround and old flooring are usually leaving the same bathroom, and since every Darien trip is routed to make the day count, all of it can go on one visit.
Pricing
What changes the price
Material, weight and access. A fiberglass tub on a ground floor with a straight path out is the light end; a cast-iron tub upstairs that has to be broken down and carried out in pieces is the heavy end, because both the weight and the work in the room take time.
A narrow street and a long walk from where the truck can park add a little time, and that goes into the quote from your photos rather than appearing later.
Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95.
After the pickup
Where it goes
Cast-iron and steel tubs usually go to scrap at SA Recycling in Brunswick.
Fiberglass and acrylic tubs, surrounds and backer board go to disposal; the material decides the route.
A clawfoot tub in sound condition is worth offering to an organization we work with, such as Habitat for Humanity ReStore. They decide what they accept, and condition matters.
