Remodeling a Bathroom on St. Simons Island and the Old Tub Has to Go?
Same-Day Bathtub Removal on St. Simons Island Often Available — Call or Text
Can we take it? Yes. Bathtub removal is usually the first physical step of a bathroom remodel, and the tub is heavier and more awkward than people expect once it’s past the doorway and into a finished room.
Whether the tub is still set in place or the plumber already pulled it, send us a few photos and tell us where it is, and we’ll tell you what it takes.
St. Simons Island
Tubs on the island
A tub in a condo is mostly about the building: the elevator, the hallway, and how narrow the access is from the bathroom door to the curb. We work that out with you or the building before the day, and a cast-iron tub that won’t fit the elevator whole leaves in pieces.
In a house, the bathroom might be in a home in Glynn Haven or one in Epworth Acres. Older bathrooms are where cast-iron tubs still turn up, and a photo tells us the material, the floor and how it’s connected.
Reading the house comes before lifting anything. A second-floor bath with one narrow stair and a ground-floor bath off a wide hall are different days, and we come ready for the one you actually have.
If it’s a rental, a remodel usually has to finish before the next guests do. We fit the tub haul around that date, and between April and September an early call helps us hold it.
What we handle
How the tub comes out
A cast-iron tub is the heavy version of this job: a single one can run past three hundred pounds. When the access is tight, we break it into manageable pieces in place — controlled, contained, with the surrounding finishes protected — and carry the pieces out.
Steel, acrylic and fiberglass tubs are lighter and usually come out closer to whole. A whirlpool brings a motor, a pump and wiring under the deck, and the whole assembly goes with us, in one unit or in sections.
A tub that’s still plumbed in is no reason to wait on calling. When licensed electrical or plumbing work is needed, that’s normally handled by you or a licensed pro. Show us what you have and where it is, and we’ll help figure out what’s needed and work around it.
Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.

After the pickup
Where the tub goes
We figure out the right destination by material. Cast-iron and steel tubs are metal, and metal usually goes for scrap, often at SA Recycling in Brunswick.
Fiberglass and acrylic tubs, surrounds and backer board have no practical second use and go to proper disposal.
Either way it comes off the island with the load, straight into Brunswick.
Pricing
What changes the price
Material, weight and access. A fiberglass tub on the ground floor with a clear path is the light end; a cast-iron tub broken down upstairs and carried out in pieces is the heavy end. A condo elevator or a long hall adds time, and it’s in the number you see before anything is loaded.
Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95. We don’t charge extra for same-day pickup when we have an open time slot.
