We decide where each piece goes by what it is, its condition and the job, not by a single dump run.

Furniture and household goods still worth using may be offered for donation. Donation centers decide what they accept, and condition matters.

Refrigerators and freezers go through the appropriate appliance and refrigerant recycling channel. Now and then a working appliance gets an inexpensive repair and goes to a family who needs one.

Landfill is for what’s left when nothing responsible remains.
