Remodeling on Jekyll and Need the Debris Hauled Off?

Same-Day Construction Debris Removal on Jekyll Often Available — Call or Text

Yes, we haul renovation debris, whether it’s one bathroom’s tear-out or a whole unit stripped for a remodel: drywall, flooring, cabinets, toilets and sinks, PVC and metal pipe, wire and lumber. We’ll show up for the small jobs as readily as the big ones.

Construction debris is the heaviest category we run, and disposal follows the weight. We explain that on the call so the price isn’t a surprise.

Jekyll Island

Renovation debris on the island

In our experience the island’s regular bulk service doesn’t handle every material, and construction debris is one of the things it leaves out. That’s where a private haul makes sense: a remodel produces a pile that ordinary collection won’t take.

Work in the Historic District calls for tighter coordination around older structures and preserved buildings. When a renovation is in one of the cottages or along Shell Road, we settle where the truck stands and how the debris moves out ahead of time, so nothing heavy gets dragged past anything old.

Elsewhere on the island, a refresh in a managed rental usually runs between guest windows, and the debris has to be gone before the unit turns. Those windows stay fairly steady from spring through fall, and we plan the haul inside them.

All of it comes back off the island with us, and where it goes from there depends on what is actually in the load. That round trip is the reason we sort as we load.

What we haul

What we haul from a remodel

  • Sheetrock, plaster and old ceiling tile
  • Tile, laminate, vinyl and the carpet pulled up for them
  • Kitchen and bath cabinets and countertops
  • Old toilets, sinks and fixtures
  • PVC, copper and metal pipe, conduit and wire
  • Lumber offcuts, OSB, plywood and trim
  • Doors, windows and frames

What we handle

How the haul works

The crew sorts as it loads — metal in its own pile, drywall and tile on the heavy side, anything that might be reused kept apart — because a fully mixed load has fewer places it can go.

We come at the end of the job or partway through it. When the demo is finished but the new work can’t start until the old material is out, we come mid-project, haul the demo debris, and let the new work start.

Chemicals, solvents, fuel or anything that might contain asbestos need their own route, and we’ll tell you where they go.

Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.

Pricing

What changes the price

Weight drives it as much as volume: a half-truck of drywall costs more to dispose of than a half-truck of furniture, even though they take up the same volume in the truck. Access adds to it, like an upstairs bath or a long walk to where the truck can stand, and the crossing back over the bridge is counted in from the first estimate.

Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95. We don’t charge extra for same-day pickup when we have an open time slot.

After the pickup

Where the debris goes

We figure out where each part of the load belongs. Construction material needs a facility that accepts it, which is not every facility; Republic on Young Lane in Brunswick, for example, takes it.

Metal such as copper pipe and conduit usually goes to scrap, often at SA Recycling in Brunswick.

Cabinets in good shape may be offered to an organization such as Habitat for Humanity ReStore, which decides what it accepts. Drywall, tile, glass and contaminated material are disposal, and we call it that.
