Settling an Estate and Clearing a Parent’s House in St. Marys?
Estate Cleanout in St. Marys This Week — Call or Text
Yes, we do estate cleanouts, a few rooms or the whole house. We move at the pace the family sets, not the pace the calendar wants, and a good part of the job is simply talking through what stays and what goes.
Anything that looks valuable or personal is brought to you rather than decided by the crew. Photographs get set aside without exception, and so do papers, jewelry and anything else that looks like it carries a story.
St. Marys
Estate work in older and gated neighborhoods
Retirees and longtime families make up a real part of St. Marys, and the calls come when it’s time to downsize or clear a parent’s house. Sometimes a parent is moving somewhere smaller and the house only needs thinning out enough that they can take the pieces that matter. Sometimes it has to be cleared after a loss. Either way, we ask what’s leaving and what’s staying before anything moves.
An older house in downtown St. Marys takes a little more thought than a wide suburban driveway. We work out where the truck sits and how the heavier pieces come through older doorways and over older floors before the first one moves, and those days run a little longer.
A home in Osprey Cove gets the same care in a different way. It’s gated and well kept, and we treat it that way: nothing flying off the trailer, nothing left behind in the driveway when the truck pulls out.
What we handle
How an estate cleanout runs
We walk the house with you first, in person, or by video call and photos if you can’t be there, and agree on what stays, what goes to family and what leaves with us. If the heirs live away, the work can be authorized remotely, and a lockbox or a relative can let us in.
If something gives us pause, we stop and call. The instruction to the crew is to move through the house the way you would want somebody moving through your grandmother’s, slowly enough to notice.
If a room isn’t ready to clear, we work the rooms that are and come back. If an estate-sale company is running a sale first, we come in afterward for whatever didn’t sell, and if you need photos or a list of what left for your records, mention it when you book.
Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.
After the pickup
Where the house contents go
A working refrigerator and a dead one leave the same kitchen and go to two completely different places, and the rest of the house is sorted the same way: by what each thing is and its condition.
Household goods in decent shape are offered where they can help, but donation centers decide what they accept, and condition matters.
An appliance with life left in it is sometimes repaired and given to a family who needs one; what nobody can use is disposed of properly.
What we haul
What an estate cleanout covers
- Furniture from every room
- Beds, mattresses and linens
- Kitchen contents and appliances
- Clothing and closets the family has gone through
- Garage, attic and shed contents
- Whatever didn’t sell at the estate sale
Pricing
How an estate cleanout is priced
Whole-house and estate cleanouts are quoted as a single project after photos or a walkthrough, not piece by piece. How big the house is, how full it is, the stairs, and whether the family wants it spread over more than one day all go into that number.
The older houses downtown take a little longer, and the drive to St. Marys is built in from the start. The price you agree to holds; it changes only if the family adds to the job, and we talk about that before any extra work.
Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95.
