Closing Down a Home Office or Small Office on St. Simons?
Same-Day Desk Removal on St. Simons Island Often Available — Call or Text
Yes, we take desks of all kinds: the solid-wood executive desk, the L-shaped corner setup, the roll-top and the antique secretary, the writing desk, the standing desk with a motor in each leg. Desks are deceptively heavy — especially executive desks with file pedestals and integrated drawer banks — and that’s the part we plan around.
The most common call is the home-office reset: new setup coming in, old desk going out. We bring the dolly. We bring the tools.
St. Simons Island
Desks in island homes and offices
In the neighborhoods, a desk is usually coming out of a spare bedroom or a study: a computer desk in St. Simons Heights or a heavy wooden desk in a den in one of the older homes in Glynn Haven. Older houses mean older stairs and narrower doors, and the desk comes apart to suit them.
Now and then the job is an office along the mid-island corridor, with several desks, a credenza and a stack of chairs. On Demere, where the truck stops and how long it can sit there matter as much as the furniture, so the pieces get broken down and staged indoors and the truck spends as little time at the curb as possible.
In an estate, the executive desk from the den is often the heaviest single piece in the house, and its drawers are full of papers that may matter. Anything that looks important is set aside and handed to the family, not decided by us.
What we handle
Taking the desk apart
On a traditional desk, the file pedestals unbolt from underneath the desktop and the legs come off the apron. L-shaped desks separate at the joining bracket between the two surfaces — usually two or three bolts. A flat-pack desk is quicker still: top off the legs, drawer banks out, and it rides flat.
Sit-stand desks come apart at the motor column so the heavy base carries on its own. Through all of it, the rest of the house should look the same when we’re done.
Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.

Pricing
What changes the price
Desk pricing scales with material, size, and access. A small computer desk from a ground floor is quick. A solid-wood executive desk from an upstairs study with a tight turn takes longer. Disassembly is included in the price, and the drive over the causeway is counted from the start.
Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95. We don’t charge extra for same-day pickup when we have an open time slot.
After the pickup
Where the desk goes
We figure out the right destination for each desk. A solid-wood desk in good condition may be worth offering to an organization we work with, such as Habitat for Humanity ReStore, which decides what it accepts; particle-board desks usually route to disposal because donation standards on those are tight.
Metal desks, steel frames and filing cabinets can often go for scrap, such as at SA Recycling in Brunswick, and the whole load comes straight off the island.
