Who Moves a Tall Case Clock Out of a St. Simons Island Home?
Same-Day Grandfather Clock Removal on St. Simons Often Available — Call or Text
Yes, we take grandfather clocks, grandmother clocks and tall case clocks, old or reproduction. Sometimes it still keeps time and sometimes it hasn’t run in twenty years; either way it leaves the house in one piece.
A tall clock was built to stand in one spot for decades. It’s top-heavy, it’s taller than most doorways once it’s tipped, and the glass and the finish don’t forgive a bump, so it gets treated that way from the first touch.
St. Simons Island
Tall clocks in island houses
These clocks tend to come up when a house is changing hands: a parent moving somewhere smaller, a family settling an estate, nobody with a front hall big enough to take it home. Island estate work isn’t rushed. If the clock or anything near it might carry value or meaning, we say so before it goes on the truck, and the family decides.
The clock might stand in a front hall in King City or at the foot of the stairs down in German Village at the south end. A tall case and an older doorway leave little room to spare, and the route from the hall to the street is worked out before anyone takes the weight.
Nearer the Village there’s no parking to speak of and visitors most of the year, so the timing and the truck spot are chosen first. And we’ll tell you straight if a summer Saturday is a hard day to cross the causeway rather than promise a window we know we’ll miss.
What we handle
How the clock is carried
We keep the case standing as long as the way out lets us, wrap it so the glass and the wood are covered, and only tip it where a door frame or a staircase leaves no choice. The stairs and any tight turns get worked out before the lift.
If the clock is one piece of a bigger clear-out, the rest of the house goes in the same trip, so a hall table, the mantel clock and the furniture around it can all leave together.
Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.

After the pickup
Where the clock goes
We figure out the right destination once you’ve decided the clock is going. A clock in good shape may suit a new home, and where that’s realistic we try for it, sometimes through an organization we work with, such as the Salvation Army or Habitat for Humanity ReStore; the place receiving it decides what it accepts.
A case too damaged to reuse is sorted by material and disposed of properly, and the load heads off the island to Brunswick.
Pricing
What changes the price
A clock takes little room on the truck. The care in wrapping and carrying it, and any stairs between the clock and the door, are what the price follows, along with whatever else is going on the same trip.
Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95. We don’t charge extra for same-day pickup when we have an open time slot.
