Old Family Furniture in a St. Simons Home That Has to Go?
Same-Day Antique Furniture Removal on St. Simons Often Available — Call or Text
Yes, we take antique and heirloom furniture: the sideboard that’s been in the dining room for sixty years, the pie safe on the back porch, the hoosier cabinet, the dry sink, the tall hall tree by the door. Old pieces are old enough to be fragile and built solid enough to be heavy, and they get carried that way.
St. Simons Island
Heirlooms in island houses
St. Simons has a lot of homes with real history in them, and some of what looks like old furniture on a clear-out is worth a second look. If a piece might have value or meaning, we stop, set it aside, and ask you before it goes anywhere. That part is never hurried, and neither is the family.
An heirloom might be a washstand in an East Beach cottage or a jelly cupboard in a house at Coast Cottages by the beach. Close to the beach, the truck that suits a quiet morning in March is not the truck that suits a Saturday in July, and parking and placement get settled before the first piece is wrapped.
In the larger homes off Sea Island Road the work moves at the speed of what’s being carried. With antiques, that is the right speed everywhere on the island. People notice whether a crew takes its time and leaves the room clean, and we work accordingly.
What we handle
How we carry old pieces
Old joinery loosens with age, veneer lifts, and a drawer that slides out mid-carry can take a corner with it. So we blanket-wrap, strap drawers and doors shut, and take the corners slow.
A marble or granite top is lifted off first, because the top often weighs as much as the entire frame underneath it, and it travels on its own. We come ready for the room the piece is in, not just the piece, and we’d rather take the extra ten minutes than rush a fragile piece down a flight.
Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.

After the pickup
Where old furniture goes
We figure out the right destination for each piece after you’ve decided what stays. Pieces that are still usable go toward donation or reuse where that’s possible, often through an organization we work with, such as Habitat for Humanity ReStore or the Salvation Army, and they decide what they accept.
Pieces too far gone for anyone to use are disposed of properly, and the load comes straight off the island to Brunswick.
What we haul
Old pieces we take
- Antique sideboards, buffets and dry sinks
- Pie safes, jelly cupboards and hoosier cabinets
- Washstands and marble-topped dressers
- Large hall trees
- Old solid-wood chests, chairs and case goods
- Heirloom pieces from an estate or a downsizing
Pricing
What changes the price
Antique pricing scales with weight, fragility, and access. A single wooden chair from a ground floor is the light end; a marble-topped sideboard that has to come apart and go down a narrow stair is the heavy end. We don’t flat-rate antiques because no two of them carry the same.
Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95. We don’t charge extra for same-day pickup when we have an open time slot.
