Ready to Take Down the Old Swing Set or Playset on St. Simons Island?

Same-Day Swing Set Removal on St. Simons Island Often Available — Call or Text

Can we take it? Yes. Backyard playsets and swingsets sit in the yard for years longer than the kids actually use them, and by the time someone calls, the bolts have rusted and the wood has gone grey. That’s fine; taking them apart is the job.

The work is disassembly first, hauling second. Towers unbolt at the joints, slides lift off, and the swing beam comes down before anything is carried to the truck.

Playsets in island yards

Salt air works on a playset faster than you’d think. Hardware seizes after years outside in coastal humidity, and wood splinters where the lumber has weathered, so we come with sockets, ratchets, pry bars and sledgehammers rather than hoping the bolts turn.

The set might be behind a house in Coast Cottages or in the yard of a beach cottage in East Beach. Send a photo of the set and one of the gate or side yard, and we’ll plan the carry from there.

Close to the beach the streets are narrow and parking is short, so getting the truck placed can be harder than the playset. We bring the smaller truck when the street calls for it and keep the road open for everyone else while the towers come down.

When a storm is in the forecast, taking down a big set to cut yard hazards jumps up people’s lists, and the island calendar shifts with it. Calling before the forecast tightens makes the timing easier.

What we handle

What we take care of

Ground stakes and anchors come up with the set. If posts are sunk in concrete, send us a few photos and tell us where it is, and we’ll tell you what it takes.

When it’s down, we sweep the yard for hardware, splinters and debris. People on the island notice how a yard is left, and a stray lag bolt in the grass is not how we leave one.

For a rental between guests, we plan the teardown around check-in time, not just the date.

Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.

Pricing

What changes the price

Size, materials and yard access. A small single-tower swing set near the street is the light end; a multi-tower wooden set with bridges, slides and buried stakes behind a fence is the heavy end. Seized hardware adds time, and we see that in the photos too.

Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95. We don’t charge extra for same-day pickup when we have an open time slot.

After the pickup

Where it goes

We figure out the right destination from what the set is made of. Steel swing frames and loose hardware are scrap metal, usually headed for SA Recycling in Brunswick.

Weathered lumber, plastic slides and torn canopies are sorted by material and go wherever is responsible for them, with the landfill used only for what nothing else will take.

It all leaves the island with us and goes straight into Brunswick, not to a transfer point on the way.
