Need an Old Swing Set Taken Down in Darien?
Call or Text for the Next Swing Set Removal Opening in Darien
Can we take the old playset? Yes. A cedar fort with a slide and a rope bridge, a rusted A-frame swing set, a plastic climber the grandkids stopped using — it all comes apart where it stands and goes out on the truck. A backyard set tends to outlive its climbers by years, so the bolts have usually locked up by then. The job is taking it apart first and hauling it second.

Swing sets and playsets around Darien
Storms change the timing out here. A tall wooden playset in an open yard is one more thing for the wind to get hold of, and when a storm does get through, rural yards and outbuildings take the hit and the cleanup calls keep coming for weeks. Taking a weathered set down before hurricane season, or gathering one that the last blow left in pieces, is the same work: what’s standing comes apart, what’s scattered gets picked up.
Picture a cedar fort behind the fence on Black Island or a rusted A-frame at the back of a lot in Crescent. Wherever the set is, the truck seldom parks right beside it. With long drives and grass that stays soft after rain, we carry beams and towers the last stretch by hand rather than rut your lawn.
A swing set is rarely the only thing in the yard that has outlasted its use. The trampoline beside it, a playhouse, a basketball goal, a shed full of outgrown bikes — if they’re going too, they can ride on the same trip. Our Darien days are routed so one visit covers as much as it sensibly can.

What we handle
How the teardown works
We show up with sockets, ratchets, a sledgehammer and pry bars, and we take the set down in the reverse order it went up: swings and slides off, then the towers, then the beams. Rotted wood and seized bolts slow things down, and we plan the time for them.
Ground anchors are the part most people forget, so we treat them as part of our job. Stakes and anchors get dug out and pulled. Concrete footings are a judgment call, and each one is something we can look at from your photos of the post bases.
Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.
Pricing
What changes the price
Size and build come first: a single-beam metal swing set is the light end, a multi-tower wooden playset with bridges and slides the heavy end. Then the anchoring — stakes are quick, concrete takes digging — and how far the pieces travel across the yard to reach the truck.
If the trampoline or the shed contents go on the same visit, it all goes into one quote, and we tell you plainly what’s in it.
Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95.
After the pickup
Where it goes
Metal frames, chains and hardware usually go to scrap at SA Recycling in Brunswick.
Weathered wood, torn canopies and broken plastic go to disposal. The material decides the route, not the county line.
A set still in good shape is worth offering to an organization we work with, such as HART here in McIntosh County. They decide what they accept and condition matters, so it’s never promised.
