Who Picks Up a Pile of Scrap Metal on St. Simons Island?
Same-Day Scrap Metal Removal on St. Simons Island Often Available — Call or Text
Can we take the scrap? Yes. It’s the pile that was headed to the recycler someday and then sat there for a year or more: chain link and wire, a broken push mower, steel cabinets and shelving, an old grill, a cast-iron radiator, copper pipe left from the last remodel. We make that trip for you.
Rust doesn’t change anything. Weathered steel and pitted aluminum still go as scrap.
St. Simons Island
Scrap metal on the island
Whether the pile is at Gascoigne Bluff on the Frederica River or out in Black Banks by the marsh, a scrap pile is almost always a mix: fencing, wire, a bike frame, a grill and a part nobody can name. We sort it as it’s loaded, so nobody has to separate it first.
Metal is one load where the routing is simple. The island has a drop-off, but scrap usually ends up with a recycler on the mainland anyway, so it rides straight across the causeway to Brunswick with no stop in between.
After a storm, the metal shows up bent: fence sections, an awning, a carport frame folded over, patio furniture thrown across the yard. Those weeks get busy across the island, so we stay in touch and work in a sensible order instead of promising a time we can’t keep.
Estate work here doesn’t get rushed, and a long-held home tends to keep its heaviest metal in the garage and the workshop. Tools and anything that might matter to the family are set aside for you to decide on before the rest goes on the truck.
After the pickup
Where the metal goes
We figure out the right destination for each load, and it comes straight off the island to Brunswick.
The metal usually goes to SA Recycling in Brunswick.
A refrigerator, freezer or window unit in the pile travels as an appliance, through the appropriate refrigerant recycling channel, often SA Recycling as well, where the refrigerant is recovered.
Wood, plastic and fabric pulled from the pile go wherever they belong, with disposal for whatever nothing else will take.

What we handle
How we load it
Gloves on, gloves stay on. Steel and iron go on one side of the truck, aluminum, brass and stainless on the other, and copper gets its own section so it stays clean.
Plastic, fabric and rotting wood tangled in the pile come out as we go and get routed separately.
A metal shed comes apart where it stands if it needs to, the sheet panels off the frame first.
Gas cans, fuel tanks and oil drums don’t ride in the scrap load. If there are some in the pile, tell us and we’ll tell you where they go.
Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.

Pricing
What changes the price
Volume, and how clean the metal is. A load that’s nearly all metal is the light end because it goes to recycling with little sorting; a pile tangled with wood, plastic and fabric prices closer to an ordinary junk load. Then the carry from where it sits to the truck.
Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95. We don’t charge extra for same-day pickup when we have an open time slot.
