What counts as old audio, radio and media gear?
Pretty much anything that played music, picked up a signal or held a recording before about 1990. Yes, we take all of it. It falls into three rough piles, and most houses that have one have the others.
The furniture: console stereos and hi-fi cabinets with a turntable under the lid, tall radio cabinets and radio-phonographs, record cabinets, big reel-to-reel recorders. The media: vinyl LPs, 45s and 78s, 8-tracks, cassettes, reel tapes, VHS and Betamax, laserdiscs, and the CDs and DVDs that came after. And the gear from somebody’s hobby or trade: ham, shortwave and CB base stations, tube testers and oscilloscopes, a TV repairman’s bench, switchboards, rotary phones, intercom and PA systems, broadcast consoles and racks.
It usually turns up together because the person who used it isn’t using it anymore — an estate, a downsizing move, or an attic or garage where it went when something smaller replaced it.

How the cabinets, crates and workbenches come out
Send photos of the pieces and tell us where they live — living room, upstairs den, attic, garage or an outbuilding — and what the way out looks like.
Each pile carries differently. A console is long, solid and back-heavy, so the lid is secured, the loose parts inside are kept from shifting, and it goes out on a dolly like a sideboard that rattles. Records are the surprise: one milk crate of LPs is heavy, a wall of them can outweigh the furniture, and attic boxes go soft at the bottom, so they get lifted from underneath or rebagged before they move. Radio and test gear is dense steel and transformers, so the heavy pieces ride a dolly or two people with blankets on the corners, and a tall rack comes down empty.
Some of it has collectors. A console from an older family house, a crate of records or an old ham rig can mean something to the right person even when it doesn’t work, so it’s worth checking before you pay to have it hauled. If something about a piece suggests it might be worth a second look, we’ll mention it before it’s loaded, and the price we quoted doesn’t change either way.
After that it’s sorted by what it is. The electronics go to the appropriate electronics recycling or disposal channel, steel cabinets and chassis often go to scrap recycling, such as SA Recycling in Brunswick, and records or movies in good shape may find a second life through a donation organization, if they’ll take them. They decide what they accept, and condition matters.
What changes the price
It prices on the load tiers by how much of the truck it fills, but where it sits matters more than how big it looks. A console or a few boxes of records from a ground-floor den is a small pickup. A wall of crates in an attic, a full workbench with the shelves of parts behind it, or a rack of broadcast gear coming up from an outbuilding takes more trips and more of the truck. Electronics carry their own disposal cost, and it shows up in the number you agree to rather than as a surprise. The minimum for any pickup is $95.
Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95.
