Part of our Furniture Removal service

A TV stand is one of the simpler jobs we run. It’s smaller than an entertainment center, it usually isn’t anchored or built into a wall, and most of the time it’s a fast single-person grab — we pick it up, we carry it out, we’re done. Don’t let the word “furniture” make it sound like a bigger production than it is.

What we see most around Brunswick and the islands is the low media console: a particleboard or MDF unit that held the TV, the cable box, and a couple of game systems for years. Particleboard sags. By the time you’re ready to part with one of these, the shelf under the TV has usually bowed in the middle and the laminate is peeling at the corners. That’s not a problem on our end — sagging or solid, it carries out the same way.

The thing worth flagging when you call: the old TV almost always goes out with the stand. The two have lived together, you’re replacing both at once, and it’s far easier for everyone to haul them in the same trip than to call twice. Tell us the TV is part of it and we’ll plan for it.

What we haul

Specifically, what we take for tv stand removal.

  • Low TV stands and TV consoles
  • Media consoles and credenzas
  • Particleboard and MDF units
  • Open-shelf and cabinet-door stands
  • Corner TV stands
  • Glass-and-metal TV stands
  • The old TV, hauled with the stand

How we work

How we actually handle it.

Most TV stand jobs are quick. One person can usually carry a media console out on their own, and the whole thing is in the truck in a few minutes. There’s no disassembly to plan for the way there is with a built-in entertainment wall — a TV stand is a standalone piece, it comes out the door the way it came in.

The catch with these units is the material. Particleboard and MDF are heavier than they look and they don’t love being lifted by one end, because a sagging shelf can give way mid-carry. We carry from the base and keep it level so it doesn’t come apart on us. Glass-and-metal stands are the opposite problem — light, but the glass shelves lift out separately and we treat them as glass.

When the TV is going too, we take it in the same load. Just let us know it’s part of the job so we account for it on the trip — it’s the most common pairing on these calls.

Pricing

How pricing works.

TV stand pricing scales with size and what’s coming with it. A single low media console carried out of a ground-floor living room is the lightest version of this job, and it’s about as small as a furniture pickup gets. Add the old TV, a second stand, or a flight of stairs and the job grows from there.

Call us with what you’ve got — the stand, whether the TV is going too, where it sits in the house — and we’ll give you a real number. We don’t pretend every TV stand is the same job, because they aren’t.
