Furniture
Entertainment center removal across the Golden Isles.
Wall units, armoires, corner cabinets. We detach it from the wall, break it down in the room, and carry it out.
Part of our Furniture Removal service
An entertainment center is rarely a single piece. The big wall units span half a room — a center tower for the TV, side towers for shelving, sometimes a bridge across the top — and they were almost always assembled where they stand. That means the job starts with disassembly before anything moves toward the door.
The material is the catch. A lot of these units are particleboard or MDF with a laminate finish, and that construction doesn’t travel well once it’s a few years old. Pick one up wrong and the back panel flexes, the cam-lock joints let go, and a corner crumbles in your hands. We expect that. We carry it in pieces rather than fighting a full unit through a hallway and leaving a trail of broken laminate behind us.
There’s also the wall to think about. Plenty of these are anchored — tip-over straps or L-brackets screwed into the studs — and that hardware has to come off before the unit will budge. We detach it, set the screws aside, and don’t leave you with a bracket still hanging on the wall after the cabinet is gone.
What we haul
Specifically, what we take for entertainment center removal.
- Large multi-piece wall units
- Armoire-style TV cabinets
- Corner entertainment units
- Particleboard and MDF media centers
- Solid-wood entertainment consoles
- Wall-mounted and bridged cabinet systems
How we work
How we actually handle it.
Most entertainment-center jobs are a disassembly job first and a carry second. If the unit is wall-anchored, we back the straps or brackets out before we touch the cabinet — trying to lift an anchored unit is how walls get gouged. Then we take the towers apart at the joints when the unit was built to come apart, and we break it down by hand when it wasn’t.
Particleboard and MDF units are the ones that surprise people. They look solid against the wall, but once you lift them the weight pulls on joints that were never meant to be moved twice. We’d rather carry a unit out in clean sections than wrestle a sagging full piece down a hallway, so we plan for the break-down from the start.
A lot of these calls come paired with an old TV — the heavy rear-projection or tube set that lived in the cabinet and weighs more than the cabinet does. We can take the TV in the same trip. Just tell us it’s coming so we bring the right hands for it.
Pricing
How pricing works.
Entertainment-center pricing tracks the size of the unit, how it’s built, and what it takes to get it out. A single armoire-style cabinet on a ground floor is the light end. A full three-tower wall unit that’s anchored, bridged, and assembled in an upstairs room is the heavy end — that’s as much disassembly time as carry time.
Call us and tell us what you’re looking at: one piece or a wall system, anchored or free-standing, ground floor or up a flight, and whether the old TV is going too. We’ll price the actual job instead of guessing at a flat rate that ignores the disassembly.
