Attic Full of Boxes in Brunswick? We Do the Climbing
Same-Day Attic Cleanouts in Brunswick Often Available — Call or Text
The short version
Attic Cleanouts at a glance.
- What it is
- Clearing an attic — boxes, furniture, decorations, electronics and baby gear — with our crew doing the climbing, the handing down and the hauling.
- What’s included
- Everything brought down from the attic, floored or not
- Optional sorting at floor level before anything leaves
- Usable items offered for donation where an organization will accept them
- Garage, shed or spare rooms in the same visit
- How pricing works
- Priced by how much of the truck the load fills. Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95.
An attic fills up one trip at a time. A box after a move, a crib after the youngest outgrew it, the old tube TV nobody had a plan for, a few years of holiday decorations that never got sorted on the way back up. Nobody decides to fill an attic. It just becomes the place things go when there isn’t a decision ready.
Then something changes. You’re selling the house, or moving, or you finally need the space, or you just want to know what’s actually up there. And the attic is the hardest room in the house to clear yourself — you’re working bent over, in the heat, at the top of a folding ladder, carrying things down one awkward armload at a time.
That last part is the whole reason this is its own job. The volume in most attics isn’t enormous. The effort per box is.
Who calls us
Who we run this work for.
The first thing to decide is whether you want to go through it at all. Some people want every box opened before it leaves. Others haven’t looked in those boxes in years and are fine never looking. Either is reasonable. If you want to see it, we bring it down and set it out where you can go through it at floor level, in the air conditioning, instead of on your knees in the rafters.
The second is whether the attic is the job or part of one. If you’re also clearing a garage, a spare room or a shed, it usually makes sense to do it in the same visit — one trip for the truck, one number for the whole thing.
The third is timing, and on this coast it matters more than people expect. If it can wait until the cooler months, it’s an easier day for everyone. If it can’t wait, we schedule it early in the morning and work it anyway.
How we do it
Attic Cleanouts Around Brunswick
It starts with a few photos — the attic opening, a shot or two of what’s up there, and anything big like furniture or a mattress. Tell us what you need gone. We come back with a firm price, and it’s confirmed before anything is loaded.
On the day, the crew handles the attic itself. Where there’s no real floor, we lay down plywood to walk on so nobody’s foot ends up through your ceiling. Heavy boxes get handed down the ladder person to person rather than carried down it, because those pull-down stairs aren’t built for a person and a box of books at the same time. In the heat of summer, the crew works in short stretches and comes down to cool off — that’s not slow, that’s how attic work gets done safely.
If you want to sort, everything comes down to a spot you choose — the garage, a spare room, the driveway — and you point at what stays. If something turns up that looks like it might matter — a photo album, a box of papers, something that looks old or valuable — we stop and ask instead of guessing.
Summer attic work gets the earliest start we can give it. Same-day pickup is often available in Brunswick, St. Simons Island and the Golden Isles — call or text for the next available opening. Camden County and inland areas are scheduled, usually within the week. We don’t charge extra for same-day pickup when we have an open time slot.
A house in Country Club Estates near the Country Club and a home in Beverly Shores by the marsh can have very different attics. What changes house to house is the hatch — where it opens, how wide it is, and what sits in the hallway underneath — and whether there’s a floor up there at all. The rest stays the same: boxes handed down the ladder person to person, plywood laid where the joists are bare, and short stretches in the August heat. A photo of the opening and one of what’s up there is plenty to price it, for an attic anywhere in Brunswick.
What’s in scope
What we haul.
What we haul in this category
- Stored boxes, bins and bags, opened or unopened
- Holiday decorations, artificial trees and the boxes they came in
- Old furniture that got moved up instead of moved out — chairs, side tables, headboards, bed frames
- Cribs, high chairs, strollers and outgrown baby gear
- Old tube TVs, stereos and electronics
- Rolled rugs, old curtains, luggage and suitcases
- Mattresses and box springs stored overhead
- Garage, shed and spare-room clutter in the same visit
Pricing
How pricing works on these jobs.
Attic cleanouts are priced the same way as any other pickup: by how much of the truck your things fill. What’s up there sets the number — a dozen boxes and a lamp is a small load, a full attic with furniture and a mattress is a bigger one. If we’re also clearing the garage or another room, it’s one price for the whole visit.
Send photos and you’ll get a firm price, confirmed before anything is loaded. The climbing and the handing down are part of the job, not an add-on. The minimum for any pickup is $95.
Why an attic is a harder job than its size suggests
Put the same boxes in a spare bedroom and it’s an hour’s work. Put them in an attic and the job changes.
Heat is the big one. In July and August an attic on the Georgia coast gets very hot, and nobody should be up there long at a stretch. Then there’s the ladder — a folding stair with a real weight limit, and an opening that a dresser was barely tilted through on the way up. And a lot of attics don’t have a floor, just joists with insulation laid between them, where one wrong step goes through the ceiling below.
None of that means it can’t be done. It means the crew plans for it: boards to walk on, boxes handed down instead of carried, people rotated in and out. That planning is what you’re paying someone else for.
What happens to what comes down
Most attic loads are mixed, and they get sorted on the way out rather than all thrown in one pile. Furniture or decorations still in good shape may be offered to local organizations we work with, like Habitat ReStore, the Salvation Army or Goodwill. They decide what they’ll accept, and condition matters — years in a hot attic is hard on fabric, cardboard and anything with glue in it, so we won’t tell you a box of old curtains is going to a good home if it isn’t.
Electronics go to the right place for electronics. Metal goes for scrap. What can’t be reused, recycled or donated goes to disposal.
Anything you want to keep stays where you say. If you’re not sure about something, set it aside — we’d rather leave it than guess.
When the attic is one room of several
Attics rarely get cleared on their own. The house is being sold, or a parent is moving, or the garage is getting done at the same time. If that’s you, show us everything you want gone — the attic, the garage, the closet in the back bedroom — and we’ll price it as one job.
If the whole house is the job, our whole-house cleanout page covers that. If it’s mostly a garage with an attic over it, our garage cleanout page is the closer match.
