Need Scrap Lumber and an Old Wood Pile Hauled Off in Darien?

Call or Text for the Next Lumber Removal Opening in Darien

Can we take the wood pile? Yes. Every project leaves wood behind, and out here it ends up stacked against a fence or under a shed roof for later. Soaked, mildewed, full of nails or half sunk into the dirt — it all goes, and pulling nails, sorting boards or dragging it to the road is never your job.

Darien

Scrap wood around Darien

On rural McIntosh County acreage, the wood pile is rarely one project’s leftovers. It’s barn boards, posts from a fence line that came down years back, plywood that once covered windows, framing scraps from an addition, and pallets that arrived for one job and stayed. Barns and outbuildings gather it for decades, and in this climate later doesn’t treat it kindly.

Between Townsend northwest of Darien and the lots along Highway 99, a big pile at the end of a long drive gets equipment sized to it. That can be a truck, a dump trailer or a dumpster, matched from your photos, so the pile leaves in as few trips as it takes.

There’s a practical reason not to wait, too: a damp wood pile turns into the place the snakes and the palmetto bugs like best. After a storm, when downed fencing and torn-off outbuilding siding join the pile, cleanup work across the county stacks up for weeks, and the sooner the wood is on a truck the better.

After the pickup

Where it goes

Clean, straight lumber can sometimes go to Habitat for Humanity ReStore, one of the places we work with. They decide what they take, so it’s never a promise.

Nails, hinges, wire and rebar pulled from the pile usually go to scrap, often at SA Recycling in Brunswick.

Rotted, painted and mildewed wood goes to disposal when nothing responsible remains for it.

What we handle

How we handle the pile

Rain makes boards heavier than they look, and a soaked sheet of plywood folds in your hands. We load every piece by hand, pull any metal out on the truck, and rake the ground where the pile sat.

Where the truck has to stop short — a tight drive, soft ground, a pile behind the barn — we carry the last stretch by hand or bring smaller equipment that fits.

Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.

Pricing

What changes the price

The pile is priced on the truck space it fills, and a neat stack fills less than the same boards thrown in a heap. Rain-soaked wood, full-length sheets and a walk from the back of the property all add time.

When the pile is one part of clearing a whole property, the job can be quoted in stages, and we tell you what’s in each one before we start.

Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95.
