Who Removes an Old Wood Pile on St. Simons Island?
Same-Day Lumber Removal on St. Simons Island Often Available — Call or Text
Can we take it? Yes. Framing offcuts, old deck boards and pickets, plywood and OSB, pressure-treated scraps — stacked or scattered, dry or soaked, it all goes. You don’t need to pull nails, sort it or drag it to the curb.
Island humidity is hard on a pile left for later. It drinks the rain, grows mildew and turns into the place snakes and palmetto bugs like best, so sooner is usually kinder to the yard.
What we handle
What we take care of
Every piece is loaded by hand and the ground under the pile gets raked, so you’re left with a clean patch of yard instead of splinters and bent nails in the grass.
A soaked sheet of plywood is an awkward, floppy carry, and wet boards weigh more than they look. We plan for both.
Hinges, brackets or a length of rebar mixed in? It comes out on the truck.
Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.

St. Simons Island
A wood pile on St. Simons
Reading the property comes before loading. A stack beside the driveway of a home in St. Simons Heights may need nothing more than the truck backed up close. The same pile behind a house on a street that’s packed on a summer Saturday calls for a smaller truck or a different plan for where it parks.
Up in Harrington and across the north end generally, properties are more spread out and some ground stays soft. We give those jobs more time and more hands, and walk the boards out rather than drive onto a wet yard.
Wood is bulky, and the causeway decides how a day of island hauling goes. In July it can stretch a short job into a long afternoon, so we would rather tell you plainly that a summer Saturday is hard than promise a time we know we’ll miss.
When a lot is being cleared, or a renovation has left years of boards behind, a truck may not be the right tool. We match the equipment to the pile from your photos, whether that’s the truck, a dump trailer or a dumpster.
Pricing
What changes the price
The pile is priced on the truck space it takes, so a neat stack costs less to haul than the same boards in a heap. Long sheets, rain-soaked wood and a walk from the back of the property add time.
Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95. We don’t charge extra for same-day pickup when we have an open time slot.
After the pickup
What happens to the wood
We sort out the right destination for the wood from what it is and the shape it’s in, and the load heads straight off the island to Brunswick.
Clean, straight lumber is sometimes worth offering to Habitat for Humanity ReStore, one of the places we work with. They decide what they take, so it’s never a promise.
Metal pulled from the pile usually goes to scrap, often at SA Recycling in Brunswick, and rotted, painted or mildewed wood goes to disposal.
