Dining Table & Chair Removal on Sea Island, GA

A dining room off Oglethorpe Drive, or anywhere else on the island, empties the way one does in Brunswick: the table comes apart if it has to, the chairs get stacked, and the set is carried to the truck. What’s different is getting onto the island, and that’s on us. Sea Island is private, so we set up access with the homeowner, the property manager or the caretaker before we head over.

A long formal table is an awkward carry, so the care goes into the route: through the dining room doorway without catching the frame, across the floors, then down the steps and along the private drive to the truck without marking the gate or the landscaping. Once the set is loaded, we sweep up where it stood and get out of your way.

Dining sets tend to go when a house is refreshed before family arrives, when someone downsizes, or when the house is getting ready to change hands. If the owner is off the island, we’ll set the day with whoever manages the house.

A round pedestal table is the simple one: the pedestal unbolts from the top, two pieces ride flat, an easy carry. A formal table is the heavy one. The leaves come out separately, and the table sometimes disassembles at the apron, with the legs unbolted from the frame underneath. We bring the tools for it.

Glass-top tables get extra care: the glass detaches when possible and rides wrapped, apart from the base. Six to eight chairs add volume to the load but not much weight, and a set of stools from the kitchen counter stacks or nests easily alongside them.

The dividing line is usually the material. Real wood that’s well made may have another life; if it’s particleboard under a veneer, it was always meant to be temporary, and it goes to proper disposal.

A set is easier to find a home for whole than in pieces, so when a solid set is in good shape we keep it together and offer it to local organizations we work with. They decide what they accept, and condition matters.

The formal sets are the hard conversation, because so often nobody’s kids want it. Mid-century pieces and real antiques are different, and if yours looks worth a second opinion, we’ll tell you before anything goes on the truck. Otherwise we figure out the right destination for it.
