Piano Removal on Sea Island, GA

Sea Island is private, so before the crew and the dolly head over, we coordinate access with the homeowner, the property manager or the caretaker. That’s our job. You tell us who looks after the house, and we take it from there.

Whether the piano is in a house out by River Club or anywhere else on the island, the planning is the same: the room, the doorways, any stairs and the walk to the truck. A heavy instrument is where care for a house shows, so we think about the flooring and what has to be protected before anything rolls, and the truck sits where it won’t mark the private drive or the landscaping.

We show up when we said we would, with the crew the piano needs. When it’s out, we clean up the room and get out of your way. The price works the same as a piano anywhere in the Golden Isles.

Most uprights move on a piano dolly. If it’s a bigger upright or a grand, that can mean extra hands.

We only take a piano apart as far as the access requires. A grand usually loses its legs and lyre and rides on its side on a skid; an upright may lose its keyboard lid for a tight stairwell, and that is about it.

Stairs are the variable that turns a piano job from a one-hour haul into a real piece of work. We plan the route down before anything moves, and the piano stays on the dolly the whole way down.

If the piano is playable and an organization we work with can use it, we can offer it to them, and they decide whether to take it. By the time we’re called, though, most pianos have done their playing, and we’ll tell you honestly on site which kind yours is.

When it won’t be played again, we figure out the right destination for it, and the metal in it can go to scrap, often at SA Recycling in Brunswick.
