Window Units or Portable ACs to Clear Out on St. Simons?
Same-Day Window AC Removal on St. Simons Island Often Available — Call or Text
Yes, we take window air conditioners, through-the-wall units from older builds, wheeled portable ACs, hotel-style PTAC units and dehumidifiers. Window units are simple; the care goes into easing one out of the sash without it slipping, then carrying it down through the house instead of lowering it from the window.

AC units in island condos and older homes
In a condo building along the Demere corridor or near the Village, a unit in every bedroom means several coming out together. Elevators, corridors and where a truck can stop on a busy road shape the plan, so the building and the parking spot are worked out first, and then the units go down on a cart. Picture a set of window units leaving a condo at Ocean Walk near the Village.
In an older house, the upstairs window unit is the slow one: sash up, brackets released, a careful slide inward so the corners don’t catch the wood frame, then down the stairs by hand. Think of a bedroom window in a home at Gascoigne Bluff along the Frederica River. People here notice how a crew treats an old house, and the window frame is where that shows.
Rental owners and property managers start calling in April and keep going until September. If you’re replacing a batch of units before guests arrive, an early call puts you somewhere sensible on the calendar, and the pickup can be fitted between checkout and check-in.
What we handle
How we take them out
A window unit slips out of a grip when its corner edges press into the carry, so we bring the hands each one needs, and an upper-floor unit adds stair work. Portable units simply roll out on their own wheels.
A photo of each unit in place tells us what’s holding it in. If anything unusual is involved, we’ll sort it out with you when we quote.
Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.

After the pickup
Where the units go
We figure out the right destination for each unit. Window and portable ACs hold sealed refrigerant, so they go through an appliance and refrigerant recycling channel, usually SA Recycling in Brunswick, where the recovery is part of their process.
A unit that still cools is worth mentioning. One with life left is sometimes repaired inexpensively and given to a family who needs it, though that depends on the unit and is never promised.
Either way, it rides off the island with the load and on into Brunswick.

Pricing
What the price depends on
How many units, which floors, and the walk to the truck. One portable unit from a ground-floor room is the light end; several window units from upper floors take longer. Multiple units on one visit cost less per unit than separate pickups.
Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95. We don’t charge extra for same-day pickup when we have an open time slot.
