We figure out the right destination for each one. There’s no refrigerant in a dishwasher and most of it is steel, so it’s usually recycled as scrap metal, often at SA Recycling in Brunswick.
A working unit you’re upgrading from can sometimes go to a family who needs one. Whoever receives it decides, so that’s a possibility rather than a promise.
Whatever its destination, it leaves the island for Brunswick with the rest of the load.
