Old Crab Traps and Nets Stacked Behind a St. Simons House?
Call or Text for the Next Available Fishing Gear Removal Opening on St. Simons
Yes, a few traps or a whole yard of them. Fishing gear piles up differently from other junk: traps stay against the fence after the last season, a shrimp net gets heavier every year it holds water, and fish boxes and bait tanks gather beside the dock. Nothing has to be sorted, dried or untangled first.
St. Simons Island
Traps and nets on the island
On St. Simons it might be a stack of traps beside the shed at a home in Harrington Landing, or a net reel and fish boxes behind a house over in Black Banks.
Gear like this is a carry more than a lift. Traps weigh little one at a time but stack up bulky by the dozen, and they snag on each other and everything else on the way out. On the quieter, spread-out north end, the walk to where a truck can stand is often the longest part of the job, so we bring more hands for it.
People here notice whether a crew leaves the place clean, and word gets around. When the pile is gone, the loose float line and the scraps of mesh under it go too.
Traps and nets take up a lot of truck for their weight, so the trip off the island is worth planning. Summer weekends back the causeway up, and that time is in the estimate from the start.
What we handle
How the pile gets loaded
We size the crew from the photos: how tall the stack is, how many nets there are, and how far it is from the pile to the nearest spot a truck can stop. Loading is also sorting — wire and steel in one place on the truck, netting, line and foam in another.
Wet, tangled nets are just heavy, and we plan for the weight. Gear from a commercial operation is welcome; whoever books the job just needs the right to dispose of what’s being removed.
Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.

What we haul
Fishing gear we take
- Crab traps and crab pots, a few or a yard-full
- Crab pot racks and storage frames

- Oyster cages, tumblers and sorting tables
- Insulated fish boxes and live bait tanks
- Buoys, floats and coils of line
After the pickup
Where the gear goes
We figure out the right destination as the gear is sorted, and the load goes straight off the island to Brunswick.
Wire, steel frames and other metal that separates cleanly is usually recycled as scrap, often at SA Recycling in Brunswick.
Netting, line, foam floats and rotted wood are what’s left for disposal.
Pricing
What moves the price
Price follows space on the truck. A dozen traps by the driveway is a small share; a yard of traps, cages and fish boxes is a bigger one, and a soaked net adds weight. A long walk from the back of the lot adds time, and the drive over the causeway is counted from the start.
Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95.
