Is Your St. Simons Garage Full of Old Boat Parts?

Yes, all of it. Own boats on the coast long enough and you end up with a second collection: the parts. A console off a hull that’s gone, a T-top that got replaced, three anchors and a bucket of chain, coils of dock line, a cradle that once held something. It fills the garage and the space beside the house, and we load it and leave that space empty.
St. Simons Island
Boat parts in island garages
On St. Simons the pile might fill a garage at a home in Harrington Landing or a shed near the water at Gascoigne Bluff.
Along Sea Island Road and in the island’s older, larger homes, a parts pile often comes out during estate work, and what’s headed for the truck deserves a second look first. A brass fitting, an anchor someone was proud of, a builder’s plate off an old hull: if something might carry value or meaning, it gets set aside and you decide, not the crew.
Moves and rental turnovers bring it out too. When a house has to be cleared between owners or guests on a deadline, the parts pile goes in the same visit as everything else, and we plan the truck, the causeway and the carry so we arrive when we said we would.

What we handle
Sorting the heavy from the awkward
The heavy pieces and the awkward ones set the crew more than the total volume does: dense anchors and chain on one side, a hardtop or console that’s mostly air on the other. Big fiberglass pieces sometimes need cutting down to get through a garage door, and we work that out from the photos before we come.
If old fuel tanks or marine batteries are in the pile, point them out in your photos and we’ll sort it out with you when we quote.
Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.
After the pickup
Where the parts go
We figure out the right destination piece by piece as the load is sorted, based on the material and its condition, and the truck heads straight off the island to Brunswick.
Anchors, chain and metal hardware are usually recycled as scrap, often at SA Recycling in Brunswick.
Fiberglass tops and consoles are the hard part: disposing of fiberglass is far more complex than landfilling it, and we’ve developed legitimate downstream processes for dismantled fiberglass.
Rotten rope, sun-split cushions and vinyl end up as disposal.
Pricing
What sets the price
The pile is priced by how much of the truck it fills. The carry out of the garage or shed and any cutting-down of big fiberglass pieces are part of that, and so is the causeway, which goes in the number before anything is loaded.
Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95.
