An adjustable bed looks like a mattress on a platform, but underneath it’s a steel frame with motors, a control box and a hinged deck that lifts the head and feet. That makes it far heavier than an ordinary bed and a lot less forgiving on a staircase — the deck wants to fold at the wrong moment, and the motor end is never where you’d like the weight to be.
A split king doubles it: two separate bases side by side, each with its own mattress and its own motor. Air-chamber beds add pumps and hoses to the mix. None of it is complicated once you know what you’re looking at, and you don’t need to know — that’s our part.

How we work
