Pricing
How pricing works.
What cedar chest and trunk removal costs here. We price by the tier your items fill, starting at $95–$150 for a 1/8 truck; a single item is quoted from a photo so we can confirm the tier before anything is loaded. The number you agree to is the number you pay, and it includes carry-out, the disposal fee and cleanup.
A chest or a trunk takes little room on the truck, so it’s usually the rest of the room or the attic that sets the tier. What adds time is the climb — an attic ladder, a narrow stair, a trunk that’s still full and has to come down in one piece. The minimum for any pickup is $95.

Part of our Furniture Removal service
Yes, we take them, and they’re usually a short job. A cedar chest or a trunk is small enough to fit through any door in the house, which is exactly why it ends up in the hardest places to reach: the attic, the back of a closet, under the eaves, at the foot of a bed nobody sleeps in anymore.
The thing that sets a chest apart from other furniture is that it has an inside. A hope chest might still hold quilts, a christening gown or a stack of letters. A steamer trunk in the attic can be full of somebody’s whole life. So before it goes on the truck, we open it and show you what’s there. You decide what stays, and the crew carries the rest out.
Chests are heavier than they look when they’re full, and trunks are built tough on the outside and tired on the inside. Old leather handles tear, wood slats split and lid hinges work loose. We lift from the bottom, not the handles, and keep the lid shut so it can’t swing open on the stairs.

How we work
Bringing an Old Trunk Down From a Brunswick Attic
Where a chest sits matters more than the chest. One at the foot of a bed is a two-minute carry. A trunk in a pull-down attic comes down the ladder hand to hand, with one person above and one below, and a metal footlocker in a closet just needs the clothes moved aside.
A locked trunk is fine. If there’s no key, tell us when you send the photo; whether to have it opened before it goes is up to you.
A sound cedar chest in decent shape is the sort of piece we try to place with an organization we work with, such as Habitat for Humanity ReStore or Goodwill. They decide what they accept, and condition matters. If a trunk looks old enough to be worth having someone look at, we’ll say so before it’s loaded, and the call stays with you.
A cedar chest at the foot of a bed or a trunk shoved to the back of a closet can go a generation without anybody lifting the lid. In a house along Highway 17 North or one of the older homes out Old Jesup Road, it might be up a pull-down attic ladder, tucked under the eaves of a back bedroom, or in the shed holding the overflow. Wherever it is, the crew brings it down hand to hand with the lid kept shut, and you get to look inside before it goes on the truck. A photo and a word about where it sits are enough to price it, from any house in the Brunswick area.
