Pricing
How pricing works.
What sailboat removal costs here. We price by the tier your items fill, starting at $95–$150 for a 1/8 truck; a single item is quoted from a photo so we can confirm the tier before anything is loaded. The number you agree to is the number you pay, and it includes carry-out, the disposal fee and cleanup.
A one-piece dinghy is a small share of a load. A catamaran takes more room once it’s unbolted, and a trailer-sailer with its rig up and a keel aboard is the bigger job — the mast work, the weight in the keel and whether the trailer still rolls set most of the price. Send photos of the whole boat, the mast and what’s around it, and you get one firm number. The minimum for any pickup is $95.

Part of our Light Demolition service
Yes, we remove sailboats. What sets them apart from any other boat in the yard is the rig. A powerboat is a hull and a motor; a sailboat is a hull plus a mast, a boom, wire shrouds and stays, sails, lines, a rudder and a centerboard or keel, and every one of those comes off and gets handled on its own before the hull goes anywhere.
How it comes apart depends on the boat. A Sunfish or a small dinghy is basically one piece with a short aluminum spar — two people carry it. A Hobie Cat is two hulls, crossbars and a trampoline that unpin and unbolt into a neat pile. A trailer-sailer or daysailer brings a taller mast, standing rigging under tension, and often a swing keel or a heavy centerboard tucked into the hull, and that’s where most of the planning goes.
Coastal sun and salt are hard on all of it. Sails mildew in the bag, lines go stiff, turnbuckles seize and the deck around the chainplates goes soft. By the time somebody calls, the boat has usually stopped being a project and started being a spot in the yard they’d like back.

How we work
Taking a Sailboat Rig Apart in a Brunswick Side Yard
With smaller trailerable sailboats, dropping and taking apart the mast and rigging can often be folded right into the removal. What decides how it goes is what’s around the boat — power lines, the house, trees, a fence — and whether the mast is stepped, lying on the deck or stored somewhere else. The spars and wire come apart first, the sails and lines get bundled, and then the hull either loads whole or is broken down where it sits, depending on its condition and how close the truck can get.
Bigger keelboats and anything sitting in an odd spot just get a closer look. Every boat is different. Send us some photos and the location, and we’ll take a look and tell you what it takes. Whoever books it just needs the right to dispose of it, and we’ll settle that with you at the estimate.
Afterward, aluminum masts, booms, crossbars and trailers usually go to scrap recycling, often at SA Recycling in Brunswick. Fiberglass is far more complex than landfilling a hull, and we’ve developed legitimate downstream processes for dismantled fiberglass. Sails, lines and rotted wood leave with the rest of the load.
The water side of Brunswick is where a small sailboat tends to get parked and forgotten — on a trailer beside a house off Blythe Island Highway, or on a waterfront lot in the Turtle River area. The first thing we look at is overhead: power lines along the road, live oak limbs, the carport roof, because the mast has to come down clear of all of it. Then the ground — soft dirt near the river, a narrow gate, a trailer whose tires gave up years ago. Send photos of the whole boat and what’s above it, and we’ll tell you what it takes anywhere along the Brunswick waterfront.
