Yes, we empty kitchens, top to bottom. And a kitchen is a different animal from every other room in the house, because almost nothing in it is big. It’s hundreds of small, heavy, breakable things behind doors: stacks of plates, glasses, mixing bowls, a cast-iron skillet, forty years of mismatched coffee mugs, a pantry of cans and half-used spices, and a junk drawer that somehow holds everything.
Then there are the few things that are big — the refrigerator, maybe a freezer, a stove, a dishwasher — and those are some of the heaviest pieces in any house.
People usually call for one of three reasons. A parent’s house is being cleared and the kitchen is the room nobody wants to start on. A remodel is coming and the contractor needs it empty. Or a rental has turned over and the kitchen is the part the last tenant didn’t bother with.
Who calls us
Who we run this work for.
What’s worth saving. Good dishes, a set of cast iron, a stand mixer, cookware that still has years in it — some families want those set aside, some want them donated, and some just want the kitchen empty. Tell us which, and the crew packs accordingly. Local organizations we work with, like Habitat for Humanity ReStore, the Salvation Army or Goodwill, may be able to use kitchen goods in decent shape. They decide what they accept, and condition matters.
Whether the cabinets are staying. Emptying the cabinets is this job. Taking the cabinets themselves off the wall is a different one, and if a remodel is the reason you’re calling, our kitchen cabinet and countertop pages cover the tear-out side. The two often go together on the same visit.
What’s in the refrigerator. If there’s food left in the fridge or freezer, that’s fine. If anything special is needed, we’ll sort it out with you when we quote.
How we do it
Kitchen Cleanouts in Established Brunswick Neighborhoods
Send us a few photos: the counters, the open cabinets and pantry, the refrigerator and stove, and the way out to the driveway. An estimator looks it over and sends back a firm price, usually within about 30 minutes.
On the day, the crew works the small things first. Cabinets and drawers get emptied into boxes and bins, breakables packed so they don’t become a mess on the way out, and the pantry bagged and carried. Then the big appliances come out, one at a time, on a dolly with the floor covered. A refrigerator is a lot of weight, and dragging one across somebody’s floor is never how it’s done.
The appliances are the one place a kitchen can get technical. A dishwasher is plumbed in, an ice maker has a water line, and a gas range is connected to gas. When licensed electrical or plumbing work is needed, that’s normally handled by you or a licensed pro. Show us what you have and where it is, and we’ll help figure out what’s needed and work around it. A plug-in refrigerator or an electric stove that’s already pulled out is simply carried.
Refrigerators and freezers usually go to SA Recycling in Brunswick, where the refrigerant is recovered — we don’t recover it ourselves — and other scrap metal often goes there too. A microwave or small electronics go to the appropriate electronics recycling or disposal channel. Same-day pickup is often available in Brunswick, St. Simons Island and the Golden Isles — call or text for the next available opening. Camden County and inland areas are scheduled, usually within the week. We don’t charge extra for same-day pickup when we have an open time slot.
A kitchen in an established neighborhood like Glynnvilla or Belle Point may have been the same kitchen for a long time, and it shows in the cabinets: the everyday dishes up front, the good set in the back, and a pantry shelf nobody has reached in years. Those are the kitchens where families most want to slow down. The crew can set things out on the counter for you to look through before anything is boxed, then roll the refrigerator and the stove out with the floors covered. It works the same for any kitchen in Brunswick.

Pricing
How pricing works on these jobs.
A kitchen cleanout is priced by how much of the truck it fills, and kitchens fill it differently than you’d think. The boxes of dishes and pots are dense and heavy; the appliances take the room. A pantry and a few cabinets is a small load. A full kitchen with the refrigerator, a freezer and the stove is a bigger one.
The packing is part of the job, not an extra. You get a firm price from your photos, and that’s what you pay unless you add to the job — the dining room next door, say — which we’ll talk through with you first. The minimum for any pickup is $95.
A parent’s kitchen
In an estate or a downsizing, the kitchen is often the hardest room to start, and it isn’t about the work. It’s the good china that came out twice a year, the recipe box, the skillet that made every Sunday breakfast. Families get stuck there.
There’s no hurry from our side. Set aside what you want, or have the crew bring everything out to the table so you can look through it before anything is packed for good. If something turns up in the back of a cabinet that looks like it matters — papers, photos, an envelope, jewelry — they stop and ask.
Before the remodel starts
A contractor can’t start on a full kitchen. Somebody has to get the dishes, the pantry and the old appliances out first, and if you’re living in the house, that usually means boxing up what you’re keeping and getting rid of the rest.
We take the rest. If the old cabinets, countertops or flooring are coming out too, the tear-out and the haul can go on one schedule and one price. That way the room is empty and ready for whoever installs next.
