The short version

Storage Unit Cleanouts at a glance.

What it is
Emptying a storage unit at the facility — furniture, boxes, appliances and everything else — so nothing has to come home first.
What’s included
  • Meeting you or your contact at the storage facility
  • Everything loaded straight from the unit to our truck
  • Anything personal or important set aside for you
  • Unit swept out, ready to hand back
How pricing works
Priced by how much of the truck the contents fill. Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95.

Storage units are supposed to be temporary. You were between houses, or downsizing, or a parent’s furniture needed somewhere to go while the family figured it out. Then the months turned into years and the monthly bill kept coming for things nobody has looked at since the door rolled down.

Eventually somebody decides to stop paying for it. Maybe the rent went up. Maybe you finally have room at home for the few things you actually want. Maybe the unit belonged to a parent and now it’s yours to deal with.

The trap is bringing it all home to sort. People rent a truck, haul the whole unit back to the house, and then realize most of it never should have made the trip — and now it’s filling the garage instead. Clearing it at the facility skips that step entirely.

Who calls us

Who we run this work for.

The real decision is what, if anything, comes home with you. Sometimes it’s a handful of boxes and a chair. Sometimes it’s nothing. If you know already, great. If you don’t, we can pull things out and set them in the aisle so you can look before anything goes on the truck.

The second question is timing. If your rental period ends on a certain date, tell us — we’ll get it scheduled before then so you’re not paying for another month.

The third is whether anything else is part of the job. If you’re also clearing a garage or a house, we can price it all together and go from one to the other.

How we do it

Storage Units Around Brunswick

Send a few photos of the open unit — the front, and as far back as you can see — and tell us which facility it’s at and the unit size if you know it. We come back with a firm price, confirmed before anything is loaded.

On the day, we meet you at the facility, or meet whoever has access to the unit. The crew works within whatever the facility requires — gate hours, where a truck can sit, how long the aisle can be blocked. Things come out of the unit and go straight onto our truck.

If anything turns up that looks important — papers, photos, something that looks valuable — we stop and set it aside for you instead of guessing. Furniture and household goods in decent shape may be offered to a local organization we work with, like Goodwill, the Salvation Army or Habitat ReStore, though they decide what they’ll take and condition matters. Metal usually goes to scrap, often at SA Recycling in Brunswick, and any refrigerator or freezer that’s been stored goes through the appropriate refrigerant recycling channel. The rest goes to disposal.

When it’s done, the unit is empty and swept out, ready to hand back to the facility.

Same-day pickup is often available in Brunswick, St. Simons Island and the Golden Isles — call or text for the next available opening. Camden County and inland areas are scheduled, usually within the week. If the facility’s gate hours limit when a truck can get in, we schedule inside them.

If the unit you’re done paying for is at a facility around Altama or along Highway 17 South, we meet you there — or meet whoever has the gate code — and work inside the facility’s hours and its rules about where a truck can sit. A photo of the open unit, front to back, and the unit size if you know it are enough to price it. Anything that looks like it matters — papers, photo albums, a box of letters — gets set aside for you instead of loaded. When the last piece is out, the unit is swept and ready to hand back. The same goes for a unit anywhere in the Brunswick area.

What’s in scope

What we haul.

What we haul in this category

  • Furniture of every kind — sofas, beds, dressers, tables, chairs
  • Boxes, bins and bags, whether opened or not
  • Mattresses and box springs
  • Appliances, including refrigerators and freezers
  • Exercise equipment, bikes and sporting goods
  • Old electronics and TVs
  • Tools, shelving and garage items
  • Units of any size, from a closet-sized unit to a large one packed to the door

Whoever books the job just needs the right to dispose of what’s being removed.

Pricing

How pricing works on these jobs.

Storage unit cleanouts are priced by how much of the truck the contents fill. A small unit with a few pieces of furniture and some boxes is a small load. A large unit packed to the door is a big one. Your photos tell us most of it.

You get a firm price before anything is loaded, and it’s the price whether we’re at a storage facility or your house. The minimum for any pickup is $95.

Why it’s better to clear it at the facility

Every box that comes home has to be carried twice — once into your garage, and again when you finally decide it’s going. Clearing the unit where it sits saves that whole second job.

If there are a few things you want, pull those first, or have us set them aside while we work, and take them with you. Everything else leaves on our truck and goes where it should — donation if someone can use it, scrap or recycling if it’s metal, disposal if it’s neither.

And if it’s already too late and the unit’s contents are sitting in your garage, that’s a garage cleanout now. Same crew, same way of working.

When the unit belonged to someone else

Storage units often outlast the reason they were rented. A parent moved into assisted living, or passed away, and the unit they rented is now in the family’s hands. Or a relative left town and left a unit behind.

In those cases, there’s usually more to go through — photos, papers, things that matter to somebody. We take that slower. Anything that looks personal or important is set aside and you’re asked about it before anything else happens.

If the unit is part of settling a whole estate, our estate cleanout and inherited-property pages cover the rest of that work.
