If you want to look before things go, we pull them out into the aisle so you can decide. Papers, photographs or anything that looks important get set aside for you. When it’s done, the unit is swept out and ready to hand back.

What fills a unit often started in a house on the island. It might be furniture moved out of a Kings Terrace home near the Village during a renovation, or pieces replaced in one of the beach cottages and vacation homes of East Beach and parked in storage rather than hauled. Either way, the unit can be emptied without any of it coming back across the causeway.
Wherever the facility is, the drive is figured in before anything is loaded. When the job starts or ends on the island, causeway time on both legs — out to you and back with the load — is part of that number up front, not a surprise afterward.
From April through September, move-outs and rental turnovers run heavy on the island. If your rental period ends on a set date, tell us and we work to it so you’re not paying for another month, and if a garage or a house is being cleared too, both can be priced together.
Pricing
What changes the price
How much of the truck the contents fill — a few pieces and some boxes is a small load, a unit packed to the door is a big one — plus the drive. A unit is priced the same way as a house would be.
Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95. We don’t charge extra for same-day pickup when we have an open time slot.
After the pickup
Where it goes
We figure out the right destination as the unit empties. Furniture and household goods in decent shape may be offered to an organization we work with, such as Goodwill or Habitat ReStore, and they decide what they take.
Metal usually goes to scrap, often at SA Recycling in Brunswick, and a stored refrigerator or freezer goes through the appropriate refrigerant recycling channel.
What’s left is disposed of properly, and a load picked up on the island travels straight off it to Brunswick.
