We drain it on site when a hose run is available. The cover and the cabinet come off, then the shell, acrylic over fiberglass over insulating foam, gets cut into sections we can carry through the gate.

Plugged in or wired to the house, we sort that out when we quote. When licensed electrical or plumbing work is needed, that’s normally handled by you or a licensed pro. Show us what you have and where it is, and we’ll help figure out what’s needed and work around it.

Crew is set by the tub and the path out, so a photo of the gate and the route to the driveway tells us how many hands to bring.

A hot tub is the biggest single item most people ever ask us to take, and on Jekyll all of it leaves with us: shell, cabinet panels, cover and steps. No pile of sections gets left beside the road. We load it, cross the bridge, and work out where each part belongs once it’s back on the mainland.

At a home along Captain Wylly Road by the golf course, or a house up toward North Beach, the tub might sit on a back deck or a patio, and the real question is the path out: how many gates, and how far to where the truck can park. On the main residential side the driveways take the truck without trouble, which keeps that carry short.

On a managed rental, the tub comes out between guests. The property manager gives us the window, we plan the cut-down and the carry inside it, and the deck is left the way it was unless it’s part of the job.

Every section rides back across the bridge with us, and we figure out the right destination for each part once it’s off the island.

Metal from the frame and the equipment can go to scrap recycling, often SA Recycling in Brunswick.

The cut shell, foam and cabinet panels have reached the end of the road and go to proper disposal. A cover or steps in good shape can be offered to an organization we work with, and they decide whether to take it.
