Old Water Heater Sitting in a Jekyll Island Garage or Closet?
Same-Day Water Heater Removal on Jekyll Island Often Available — Call or Text
Water heaters are bulky, awkward and heavier than they look, particularly if sediment has built up inside. So once it’s disconnected, we drain the tank on site before it leaves the floor and take it out on a dolly.
If the plumber has already pulled the old one and left it in the garage, a photo of it where it sits is all we need.
What we handle
What we take care of
If it’s still connected, licensed plumbing or gas work is normally handled by you or a licensed pro; we’ll help figure out what’s needed and work around it. Once it’s disconnected, we drain the tank to a hose run and carry it out with the hands the job needs; if it’s an eighty-gallon tank or a hard carry, that can mean extra hands.
A tankless unit comes off the wall and leaves with us, and the wall plumbing stays in place.
When licensed electrical or plumbing work is needed, that’s normally handled by you or a licensed pro. Show us what you have and where it is, and we’ll help figure out what’s needed and work around it. A leaking unit is fine too; mention it with your photos and we’ll plan around it.
Send us a few photos and tell us what you need removed. We’ll take it from there.
Jekyll Island
Water heaters on Jekyll
In managed rentals, a water heater swap can land between guests, with the plumber putting in the new unit and the old one left for somebody else to deal with. A property manager can send us a photo of where it’s sitting and the window we have, and we get it out inside that window.
An older house near Shell Road in the historic district may have its heater tucked into a tight utility closet, while a house up by North Beach might keep it in the garage. Both are ordinary carries once we know which, and the photos tell us how many hands to bring.
From your side it should feel like any other job. The one real difference is the round trip: the old tank comes back across the bridge with us rather than staying anywhere on the island, and that drive is in the quote from the start.

What we haul
Water heaters we take
- Forty- and fifty-gallon tanks, gas or electric
- Eighty-gallon and larger tanks
- Tankless wall-mounted units
- Hybrid heat-pump water heaters
- Expansion tanks and connecting fittings
- Units already disconnected by a plumber
Pricing
What changes the price
Size, type and access. A standard tank from a garage is the light end; a large tank from a tight closet or from under the house takes longer. A tankless unit usually prices close to a standard tank job, with a shorter carry and more time at the wall.
Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95. We don’t charge extra for same-day pickup when we have an open time slot.
After the pickup
Where the old heater goes
A water heater is mostly steel, so it usually goes to scrap-metal recycling, like the other metal appliances we haul, often at SA Recycling in Brunswick.
We figure out the right destination based on the unit and its condition, so there’s nothing for you to sort out.
Any expansion tank or fittings that came out with it go on the same load, sorted by what they are.
