A lot of the mattresses leaving this island come out of managed rentals: one worn-out bed replaced between guests, or every bed in a unit swapped at once. The property manager gives us the window, we plan the carry around checkout and arrival, and the old beds are gone before the cleaners make up the new ones.
A rental house along Beachview Drive might have beds on two floors and a stair that turns halfway down; a unit near Beach Village might be all about the elevator and where the truck can stop. Either way, we sort that out before we come, not in the parking lot.
We don’t leave a mattress leaning against a dumpster or set out by the road. Every one we pick up rides back across the bridge with us, and that round trip is in the price from the start.
After a storm, priorities shift here the same as across the region, and wet mattresses stop being unusual. A soaked one can weigh close to double what it did dry, so mention it with the photos and we’ll come ready to wrap it.

What changes the price
Mattress pricing scales with size and quantity, then the carry: which floor, how far the bedroom is from the door, whether there’s an elevator. Several mattresses from one turnover are priced as the load they actually are, not as a string of one-offs, and the drive back over the bridge is already counted.
Firm price from your photos, confirmed before anything is loaded. The minimum for any pickup is $95. We don’t charge extra for same-day pickup when we have an open time slot.

What we handle
How a mattress comes out
The bed gets stripped if it’s still made, the mattress goes out standing on edge, and the walls stay clean. A box spring with a wood frame that won’t flex travels on its own, and memory foam, which flops, rides strapped down.
A wet mattress gets wrapped in plastic so it doesn’t drip on the floors or the rest of the load.
If bedbugs are a possibility, please tell us before we arrive. That mattress travels in a fully zipped encasement so nothing rides to the next house.

Where old mattresses go
Every mattress leaves the island with us, and we figure out the right destination for each load.
We look for responsible reuse, recycling and disposal options when they’re practical and available. What that means for a given mattress depends on its condition and the options open at the time, and when a real reuse or recycling option is there for your load, we use it and tell you so.
A metal frame riding along is scrap, usually headed to SA Recycling in Brunswick.
